If the topic is done abd dusted, I'll say no more.

The better question is should there be a Momma Mia thread.

BTW, I'm American and I always spell it "tonight."

I haven't seen it. I wanna see it. I can't find anyone to go with me who will promise not to make fun of me.

Sigh.... have to wait for the daughter to come in from college. She will go... and sing with me through the movie.:D

If it weren't for the bitch of a commute, I'd go with you.

I like musicals. And anybody that wants to make fun of me for it better be ready to discuss them in detail. :D

I didn't think I liked musicals, I enjoyed this but saw it as much more than a jokey musical.

There is a nice social undercurrent to MM (as long as you ignore the cock up with the time scale) and trips back to the 'b' musicals of the late 50's and 60's with their corny dance and choral routines. Ah nostalgia... it ain't what it used to be but MM helped swing the balance. The real question is how did Meryl Streep and Julie Walters get on off screen? I noticed in the film they made virtually zero eye contact.

The time scale works as long as you assume that the musical is set when it was written - in the mid nineties.

I love this film. Have been twice and would like to go again, but am running out of time before the wedding. I think the wedding theme makes it very personal for me and I bet every time I see it from now on I'll remember the summer leading up to my wedding.

My husband will discuss 'em with you.

He's seen so many of mine by default - he's an expert.

It's cool to watch him educate his football players.

:D

Probably not well. Julie Walters stole almost every scene she was in.

I was surprised with the general enthusiasm and commitment shown by the stars in what was an entertaining piece of nonsense. I thought that some of the scenes were excruciatingly embarrassing but the overall effect was great fun.

I particularly liked the song and dance during and after the credits.
