So is voting for an inexperenced black man with Cleopatra Jones as his wife.He knows he's taking a gamble.
i mean we got a pretty old pope
and an aging dalai lama...
I can't quote numbers but doesn't it seem during every election there is this huge conversation regarding swing voters and who will pull who off the fence. Then when election day comes, the same percentages vote Republican and Democrat as they always do, Perot being the only real exception. Its the same for increasing voter turn out. I remember reading that the "Rock the Vote" campaign looked to be pulling massive numbers of 18-22 years olds into voting booths in 2004. Then when election day came that demographic had a actual increase of something like 1%. So will this actually mean anything?
It's really easy to see this VP pick as pandering and hypocritical. The same can be said for Obama picking Biden though. Biden is an OLD Washington insider who has been there longer than McCain. Don't get me wrong, Obama chose a VP with years of foreign policy experience and experience in general. McCain chose...the 2 year governer of Alaska? For those of us who actually might be swayed, advantage Obama.
tons of paperwork...How hard can it be to run Alaska? .
And herein lies the only thing that mccain has going for him.
Fear.
Same thing that drove us to a war that pretty much is universally seen as a dismal failure except by a few chickenhawks on the right.
Great campaign platform.. If you're trying to become fuhrer of Germany, and the year is 1933... not such a great one for the united states in 2008.

Gonna get you sucker!
Background? Beauty pageants? Yippee.
Her hubby works for BP? Great, I'm sure she'll get that gouging under wraps.
And she admits using marijuana. Great. Chong with tits could be sitting #2.
Experience? Two terms on city council, one as mayor and 19 whole months as governor. WOW. Her resume makes John Quincy Adams' look like Paris Hilton's.
Brilliant.
tons of paperwork...
She is known as a reformer. She took on a corrupt bureaucracy in Alaska and prevailed, she kicked ass and took names. She came out of it with an 80% approval rate. She's right on top of the energy issues in Alaska and is known for her distance from big oil.
I really hope Hillary-Heads see through this and don't fall for this obvious ploy.
Sarah Palin, attractive, energetic outsider and CAN DO executive
yeah, so obvious. His second best choice was Romney and I'm sure Mccain thought he wouldn't hold up head to head with Biden because Mccain kicked his ass in a debate for starters.....Yeah, it's pretty obvious that a woman was chosen because the GOP is hoping to attract those people that are pissed at Hillary not winning the nomination.
a self decribebAND hockey fan, you can't forget that.
Eh? Obama is clean, despite that silly flap over Tony Rezko. McCain and Biden are reasonably clean for men who have spent decades in the U.S. Senate. Palin's the only one who might have some surprises in store in that regard.
Palin was chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. I'm no expert, but that definitely sounds like a position where it's real easy to get your hands dirty.
And we'll see if she will change her position on ANWR drilling to match the one McCain has always had (I'm not sure he still has it, given how much he's flip flopped on everything else).
