I don't think it's true.
I think the real question is - if they find themselves willing and able to support John McCain, then why on earth were they supporting Clinton?

Well apparently the Republican Party hosted a happy hour in Denver for Clinton supporters during the Democratic Convention. And the reports I saw stated that only two-thirds of Clinton supporters are supporting Obama with a quarter firmly stating their intention to support McCain and the rest undecided.

I don't buy it. Sounds like propaganda.

I find that staggering. I'm sure something like that has happened in the past but I can't recall a switch of such proportions in my lifetime.
Plus, they really shouldn't be called Clinton supporters anymore. If they actually supported her, then they would have listened to her when she said that she believed in Obama and wanted everyone to support and elect him. What they are now is McCain supporters with no moral compass.

I seriously doubt that's true of party activists, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are some states where a big percentage of Clinton primary voters went to McCain. We're talking here about two types of people, most likely: those who voted in the primary because the Democratic race were where the action was, but usually vote Republican in the fall anyway; and those who might have voted for Clinton had she been the nominee, but find Obama unpalatable for some reason. I think the main reason that sort of Clinton voter won't support Obama is obvious enough.

Why do you think that is?
Or more importantly, why aren't they waiting until election day?
.
What?
Don't ask me. I was asking cause I'm not sure.
It was a joke.
...sorry.
