Hey, other than that, it's brilliant. Perhaps the narrator found the Log Cabin Republicans so very, very puzzling he couldn't explain them at all.
And, of course, admitting their existance dilutes his p.o.v. While in the current degenerate state of the party, it gets hidden, only Republicans hold to the view that there are some things that are none of the government's damned business. Remember, Obama is opposed to gay marriage.
Well, he probably felt it would dilute the satire, too. Sometimes you simply don't want objectivity.
Ironic, isn't it, that the republicans saw fit to sacrifice one of the best things about the party, the concept that some things are none of the goverment's damned business? They gave it up in their quest for power. It's a paradox.
I didn't know that about Obama. One can only hope he's privately more in sympathy than he lets on, and realizes he has to make noises like that if he has a hope in hell of getting elected.
I was just reading about one of the first and most interesting of the closeted Republicans I became aware of, Terry Dolan.
He's one of the people most responsible for the vicious politics now extant in America and, unworthy and hypocritical of me, I felt a certain amount of amusement in the manner in which he passed.
No, unfortunately the man's much-vaunted personal faith is a somewhat primitive Southern Baptist-flavored Christianity. Anyone with the most minimal knowledge of Koine Greek and even a half-assed familiarity with the New Testament would realize that homosexuality is a religious non-issue. Pity that our admirable separation of church and state has left us so badly uneducated on the Bible.
I don't know about Koine Greek, but I get a certain amount of exposure to the New Testament, and in my SS class, quite naturally, the gay-bashers quote it extensively.
Then they're quoting incorrectly because that phrase in Romans that is used against gays doesn't mean what they think it does. In fact, no one is quite sure what Paul is talking about. Whatever the word actually means, there is no where in the Koine Lexicon, no where that you can find a meaning that exactly equals Homosexuals. And there is a lot of homophobic writing in Koine, too, but they never use the same word Paul does. The best bet from the word of scholars who really do speak and write Koine is that it means male temple prostitutes. If that is the case, then what Paul is railing against is the worship of false gods.
Heh! I'll have to point that out next time the subject comes up for discussion, as I'm sure it will.
4. Can a Gay Republican Be Married to a Lady?
Yes, and most gay Republicans are!
Then why are they so interested in the contents of a woman's womb?only Republicans hold to the view that there are some things that are none of the government's damned business.
Then why are they so interested in the contents of a woman's womb?
that's the neo-Nazi wing of the party. None of them have had daughters get raped and pregnant.
Original Nazi girls were into Strength Through Joy and just got pregnant. A mother received the Mutterkreuz upon the occasion of the birth of her third child, and that child received special subsidies toward education and so on.
Nazism was Christian-based and they wanted to breed more Nordic Germans. There was a sort of mystical and esoteric Germanic pagan element, too. Hearths. Goering was a devotee. He had a bearskin vest and attended meetings celebrating Germanic heritage. But they all wanted more properly Aryan children.
Uh, this overly cute little blurb left out the Log Cabin Club, an organization of openly gay Republicans. Just sayin', yanno.
I'd actually call Hitler's religion a strange, mystical hodgepodge of Gnosticism and Christianity, and not of the good sort. I dislike association of his beliefs with my own pagan ideas, that's for sure. But then I'm not an anti-Semitic fascist bent on world domination.
It is signifcant that Hitler's own version leaned more toward the Christian end, at least in terms of monotheism (he made only the vaguest and most symbolic references to more than one Deity, and that was rhetorical from the sound of it). Whereas some of his subordinates and former confederates were more distinctly pagan.
Personally, I suspect that Hitler really believed that God had sent him to exterminate the Jews. I wouldn't call his religion Christian, more a perverted Manicheanism. He believed that the "Aryans" were good, while the Jews were evil. I wouldn't call him a pagan himself. Plenty of his henchmen were occultists, however, but that was at a time when spiritualists were popular. In fact, they were closer to spiritualism than paganism. Seances, oujia, astrology, etc.
It also omitted the fact that airports are usually run by cities, and most cities are run by Democrats.
