Firefox 3 is out

Ok, downloaded and installed.

I wonder if I can turn off some of those "awesome" new features. The adress history is a bit overkill. And what do I do with the plugins that stopped working?

No biggie, I run Opera anyway.

lol had it downloaded a few min before 1...-shrugs- though I've been running the beta on this for a lil while

As soon as I've got my computer all fixed up, I'll be sure to get it right away. :)

7,951,496 downloads! beats the hell out of anything that M$ ever did. :D

It's not a numbers game. Took me ages to try Mozilla - IT guy at work gave Scary Dungeon lectures on how Bill Gates vampire bats would come and eat the children of anyone who went to 'the other side'. Us nuls need more helpful advice.

Just now, I'm finding Firefox3 as difficult to come to terms with as Vista a few weeks ago.

I got a manual with the DVD player!

IE has many faults but it is not the mutant from the crypt - at least not for dummies.:D

I try to ignore the whole "who wins? who's better?" argument. Both sides tend to exaggerate the faults of the other, and that's not very productive. I tend to want to stick with what I know, so I also need to be convinced to try new products, but Firefox is one that convinced me right away.

Just remember that about 85% of all security problems in Windows are from IE.

Gee thanks for embedding that in the Operating System Bill! :( (you dumbass!)

I downloaded it last night in hopes of getting into that site that y'all are having so much fun on (and no go, it didn't work.)

So I lost my pretty skin and some of my add-ons for nothing. :(

You could use Foxmarks in the future, it synchronizes your bookmarks with an online copy, so that you never lose them. Also, it can help you if you want to have the same bookmarks at home and at work.

I'm not exactly sure what that all means, but I downloaded it anyway. It didn't seem to make any difference that I could tell.

I work at a grade school, sweetie. These bookmarks and those bookmarks are two totally separate things.

They didn't move with the new installation? Mine did.
Nope. I'd been running Flock (the replacement for Netscape with Firefox) and the bookmark page was blank. I just copied and pasted, though, and now I think they're all there.

You should be able to transfer everything during install

Import time. :D
I should be able to...

Everything seems fine now. I haven't been able to jump higher or run faster, but anything that keeps that IE away is fine with me.

I'd like to be able to do it and will some day but I have enough browsers downloaded for my coding projects. Well that and for some dumbass reason they decided that the only browser that the project with this class final will be checked against is firefox 2. So much for cross-browser compatibility! Not downloading anymore till at least august just on the chance something messes up.

Is there any way to get rid of the sites listed in the address bar that drop down? I don't like that (I really don't like it, and I haven't seen a way to get rid of them).

Check under options and then privacy. I know you can delete it at the end of each session automatically but that's all I remember.

It doesn't delete it though. The same ones are there every time I open Firefox even though I have it set to delete all private info upon closure. I don't know where it's pulling the sites from because some of them are places I haven't been in ages (not even sure I've visited them with Firefox.) It's almost like it's pulling them from the bookmarks or something.

Edited to add: Yep, I checked. It's pulling sites from my bookmarks.
