Hard-core racists are always attracted to sex-based venues. Why?

I've run across this in life outside the `net, too. Groups / companies / et al which had sex as some element of their business always attract the white supremacist / black supremacist types (though, generally, far more of the former than the latter). It's where they place their soapboxes, or try to be the most disruptive in a public venue.

Is having issues with sex the common denominator here? Or the attraction to a "taboo" venue, where they can spout their own taboo ideas? Or a bit of both?

Here's where I see people's needs in my own particular lens.

Sex for me is a need. I have respect for needs and I'm grateful to have them fulfilled.

But some of this stuff is like turning on a water faucet and talking to it.

I'll buy that hypothesis, and I'd add that the people who are drawn to places like this tend to have higher sex drives and more libido in general. Insecurity+frustration=recipe for trouble.

It's the Umbrella bird thing.

I was watching "Planet Earth" where they portray all these mating dances. I'm watching and it's so fucked up. What the fuck are they thinking? There's a clip from this weird ass Umbrella bird that's dancing in ways that are ridiculous, not to mention bits of the body I can't even...is that a wing or...what the fuck?

Then it hits me. All these things people do that I just don't get, and I wonder why they're wasting their time and energy on this useless crap. It's because they're different breeds.

The Umbrella bird masters its dance, fucked up at is it, and they get laid.

It's all about finding your species, dancing in a recognizable way, and being picked out of the crowd for it.

Now I have a shorthand for this sort of behavior. Anything else other people do that I absolutely do not get and it's a waste of time, but they're determined it's their dance - Umbrella bird.

I don't have to sleep with them, but they're trying. Hopefully a matching Umbrella bird finds them and they have fucked up weird sex with each other.

I answer to the call of the great wise trivia nerd. And others think "Why the hell would you waste that much time playing games or watching Science fiction?"

Well, I can't look at water faucets innocently any more. Some thoughts you just can't unthink.

It is a reminder, though, not to take my perving too seriously. Because sure as hell someone else won't.

What I do not get is the denial. My old man was a racist. Time and time again, it was all projection all the time.

As for the sex thing, he would go into fits of rage seeing inter-racial couples. Thing of it is, he would never say it to their face. Why? Because he was a coward.
