Maybe put some boards under the frame?
Put a mattress on the floor unless you have the skills to repair it.

I don't really have a place to put the mattress and store the bed. 'Tis a small apartment.
Buy a new one!!...What the hell do you do?
No, seriously, this isn't entirely a bragging post. Entirely. Teh Yeti and I just broke my box springs. The bed is SAGGING in the middle. Now what the fuck am I supposed to do?![]()
The boards thing can work, or better still, an old wooden door....great for the back also. As to space, that is a problem. It has taken me over 5 years to get used to the space restrictions here and still it gets me stressed out at times. My sister was shocked when I told her that both houses we have lived in since I came here were considered on the large size and yet neither of them have a linen/storage cupboard, or even a place to put one.

I dont mean to laugh..but it reminds me of my mom's bed. It had slats under it to support the box springs but one was always too short. My ex husband were there visiting her and it was the rare occasion we were having sex when the slat fell out and slammed into her hardwood floors. My mother came running into the room to make sure we were ok....
I think the wood under the bed will help..
Hmm, too bad I don't have an old door lying around. That would work well. I went to Lowe's, and my friend gave me her discount. So I now have four 2x4s that Yeti and I are going to stick under the box springs. Maybe it'll work until I can buy a new box spring.
Ugh, I understand about the space thing. I have one closet in the entire apartment, and it's filled to capacity. I don't think I could stand not having somewhere to store things in a house!
I wish!
LOL, my granny had a bed that had wood under the box springs. It was too short, too, and sometimes it would fall out while you were lying in bed. You'd be staring at the ceiling, and all of a sudden, one side of the bed would drop. It was a WEIRD feeling.
But, yeah, thanks, guys. We're going to try to put the wood under the bed in a little while. Let's hope it makes a good temporary fix.![]()
Too bad you live so far away for one thing and two, that your place is small. Malin and I have a king sized waterbed that we're going to end up just dumping because we cant take it with us..we use california king mattresses in it..
Ok.... It's not the box springs... I bent the metal fucking frame... We're heading out tomorrow to get a new one for cheap, hopefully. Wish us luck.
Word of warning...if you buy a cheap metal frame you will likely end up with the same problem, only quicker or completely snapped. Been there, done that so reinforced it with extra support legs and thick wooden beams to reinforce the side and centre metal ones. My son was greatly amused with our disaster.
