The CA Supreme Court struck down an anti-same sex marriage bill, saying it was unconstitutional.

CA is now the second US state to legally protect the marriage rights of same sex couples.

It won't be recognised federally, but as long as they stay in California or Massachusetts, she and Portia are good.

This is true of the hundreds of thousands of "ordinary" marriages I anticipate happening as well.
