Cell popping

I'll be ordering a cell popping kit at some point here shortly, and scarring is what I am concerned with. My girls are fair-skinned (though not as fair as you), and I do not want scars, no matter how potentially pretty they might be. So the plan is to order the kits and do a few test pops in different discrete areas of skin. If they don't heal, they will just be a dot, no big deal. If they do heal, we'll go ahead.

Well that's why I'm curious how deep into the epidermis the probes break the cells, it may be possible to make the damage occur closer to the surface of the skin and thus heal faster... I'm seeing if I can get a more detailed medical definition on it.

wrong coast.

You'll have to get her scheduled at an East Coast BDSM event.

I'm putting you in charge of the Artistic Domme East Coast Visit Organizing Committee (ADECVOC). And don't feel you have to do it alone... delegate responsibilities to any east-coasters you know.

Keep us posted.

From what little I have gathered through research I have been doing, it is just the surface cells that "pop". The branding is not deep at all.

Killing me softly with her probes...

My personal experience is that Connie just touches the surface of the skin with the probe, burning the top layer.

That said, if you are very fair and/or have a fragile healing system, even that small burn might scar.

Testing in a small, less visible area -- whether for carpet cleaning, fabric staining, or cell popping -- is probably a VERY good idea.

During Leather Tastings last year (event with a lot of sampling of different types of play) the person doing the Cell Popping demo offered to do me along the edge of my tattoo - said it'd scar, but it wouldn't be visible.

Maybe you could use this technique in your test?

I plan on using places that aren't see. They'll be painful as a result, but the skin's fragility will serve to really stress test the concept.

Hello All,
I am the Artistic Domme and I see by your discussion you may have some questions about the Cell Popping demo I did a gentlemen recently. My web site is www.artisticdomme.com You can email me on my web site with any questions. Thank you
Connie

Thankyou Domme, I just checked out your site and I am SOOOO EXCITED. Man I love this chat room, it's like fun stuff overload. I'm never going to be bored ever again.
I'm going to buy staples and popping kit.
In one previous thread I mentioned that I'm close to becoming covered in surface piercings due to it being a "subspace" of mine.
I think I might have found a new one.....
Can't wait to play.

If I succeed.... you'll be the first ones to know ;)

Will Cell Popping Scar?

Possibly, it depends on your skin type and how you heal. Cell Popping only involves the first few layers of skin. I touch the red-hot tool to the skin for only about a 1/16 of a second. The Dragon I did (picture found on my web site www.artisticdomme.com) only lasted 2 weeks but the man heals very fast. On a contrast to that the full leg picture has lasted 6 months. A test area is a very good idea.

A bit of a random tangent, but the skin staples pics look amazing. Are they safer than similar corset designs using needles? Do they go straight in or do they curve...I'm thinking easy removal vs. taking skin with. 'Cuz while needles kinda freak me out the staples just might be something to explore more...

Hehe...must determine variables first. Define hypothesis. Set controls and parameters. Minimize risk. Manage confounding factors. But maybe I'm just anal like that. Boring data collection first. Then if it's an all-systems-go staple art. Actually tho I would like to know how deep they go. I've stapled myself accidentally with staple guns and it's not something I'd recommend. But these pictures are so pretty, and if these are better designed for human skin as opposed to treated 4x4s then it would be worth an experiment proposal. Sry for the hijack...cell popping sounds and looks fascinating but I'm quite pale and must join the growing ranks of easily scarred subs. I've used henna before which was lotsa fun but it went away too soon :(

they go in and bend around like regular staples. If you're going to use them, you MUST purchase a staple-remover for exactly that purpose.

they're better than needles in a few ways: you can wear them longer (I know people who attend weekend long events, do the staples at the first one, and leave them in all weekend) they don't drag or pull against things accidentally, and they have a much different look than needles.

They're used to staple wounds together, so they're designed for the purpose of stapling flesh.

A lot of my friends swear by surgical staples as something that is a LOT less painful than the needles.

Well, sort of. It is certainly a better idea, but you can remove them without the special tool. When I had my knee surgery, the staples started driving me insane, so they had to come out. I called an EMT friend, and he told me how to do it. You clip the staple in the center with wire clippers and this will allow you to work them out.

You can use needle nose pliers - works by going between the middle of the staple and the skin and then opening up the pliers which pops the staples out.

Can't wait to get my hands on a stapler now :D

Skin Staples

Skin Staples are much easier to use than needles and look better. I do not push down very hard on the stapler to allow the staples to only go in about 1/16 of an inch and stand up off the skin so I can thread the ribbon through the staple.
In most public play party skin staples are not considered blood sport like needles. Normally a sub can not walk around with needles in a play party but I have never had a problem with staples. Stapled skin does not bleed when they and attached or when removed. While they can be removed by cutting the staple in half, a remover is much easier to use and is only $2.00.

I did not mean to detract from the remover. I would MUCH rather have had a remover. But when the staples itch so badly they were keeping me awake, they had to come out.

I watched a staple demo like you are talking about. The chap that did it also kept the staples very shallow. VERY cool stuff.

does the area that the work is done in affect healing time?

and are there any cuastions youd have against working on "sensitive areas" such as the breasts?

Sensitive Areas For Cell Popping

and are there any cuastions youd have against working on "sensitive areas" such as the breasts?

As for breasts the answer is no. Breast are a great canvas to use. However I would stay away from the nipple area. I do a lot of needle play on breast but never the nipple area. The area I do not suggest working on is butts and upper backs. The reason for this is these are areas that we play with, such as spanking, flogging, and canning ect.. and the cell popping will open up and bleed if hit on hard.

Thank you so much Artisic Domme for coming into this tread and answering our questions. I so enjoyed that demo, it was easy to see what you were doing and your commentary explained everything you did as you were going about it. I see there is quite a bit if interest in this type of artistic play. I thank you again for sharing your knowledge with us. BTW I am eliza, at Paltalk, in case you were wondering who was posting about you.

Bump cause there was some talk about cell popping in the Cafe.

WOW!

I want!

Just remember... If you cell pop the areola, do not use ice on it unless you want excruciating pain... And it'd be a good idea to put something between the icepack and the skin.

Totally awesome experience though.:D
