Crossdressing for reasons OTHER then sexual arousal?

I'm noticed that many people (well pretty much just men) like to crossdress because it turns them on. But what I'm wondering is how many people put there do it for other reasons (and what are they?). Also, it may be less obvious, but how many women crossdress too?

I guess I might want to share my experience too, but I want to see what other people think first...

Crossdress why?

I do it because it makes me feel whole. I resisted for years. Buy some clothing, shave, dress up and later throw them away, feeling guilty. I married and one day told my wife of my desires to dress in a nightie. We went shopping and I was loving it. That progressed to panties and slowly to forms, wigs and finally everything.

I let my wife know a little at a time and it was mostly okay for her. As time went and I told her more, she started to wonder if she would lose me to a gay relationship. I never told her of those desires and probably never will. Anyway, I had this in me my whole life and only till I reached over 50yo did I finally accept it. I don't dress for the sexual excitement, although it is a rush to go out in public dressed, I dressed because it is a part of me. I love to feel feminine.

I now have a full wardrobe, 3 wigs, 3 breastforms, 15pr shoes, jewelry, good makeup and have even progressed to laser to remove hair from my neck to my upper thighs.

I will never go back, I dress up 3-4 times a week. One day when I am gone my kids will find all my personal items. My youngest daughter knows, i hope she will remove it all from the house, I don't know if the other kids would understand.

I'm of the same mind set that while it does turn me on to dress sexy. I also like to just feel fem. It makes me feel whole. Doing things like getting a belly ring also to get the fem feeling. I like to blur the line and wear girls jeans or tennis shoes. Just to get away with it. Maybe a silky cami when I go to bed or under my clothes. Bottom line is it makes me feel "right". I also blur the line and found it interesting with the post of the belly ring. i have pierced ears and want another piercing but would really love a belly piercing. I already stretch the limits, wearing panties, bra and a small set of breast forms, sometimes thigh highs, womens pants, women's belt, men's loose shirt and women's socks. i also have painted toes and have been looking for women's shoes that I could wear as a man. one day I will find a pair.

I love the thought that i am so feminine out in public. not as good as dressing enfemme in public, but nice none the less.

Most of my wardrobe is men's clothes. I wear skirts for special occasions, I don't get off on the fact that I have a ton of men's clothes in my wardrobe... probably about 80% bar my special occasion clothing...

I do it because I like the feel of men's clothes better. The shape of men's pants, the way men's shirts hang... women's clothing isn't shaped like my body's shaped and for me to wear the tight clingy pants or the shirts with the shorter clingy sleeves and... and this is a big and... button up shirts with large breasts... they simply look unflattering on me. Women's clothes are shaped very specifically. For women that don't look like me. If I wear a man's button up shirt, it DOESN'T bow out around my breasts. If I wear man's pants, I can wear my size and have them fit properly around my thighs.

And some men are shaped like those women are shaped. Hey, if a guy wants to wear the pants I can't fit without getting two sizes too large... by all means! If a guy thinks panties feel great, by all means! Everyone used to wear robes about two thousand years ago or so anyway... why should 'crossdressing' be a problem?

I get no sexual appeal out of looking like a guy. I just like their clothes better. A lot better.

I strongly suggest getting the belly ring. It adds so much to the sence of feeling really fem. You can change out the jewlery to something sexy and dangling or just keep it simple. I think I'm gonna take your lead as well and start painting my toes. I love the thought of going to my "manly" job and having my belly ring and now my toes painted. Thanks so much! I would love to get the belly ring... but i go to a gym regularly and have a pool in the back yard. my kids and grand babies come over often to swim. it is one thing to stretch the limits with the earrings, toes painted and hairless legs/body, but I don't know if I could get away with the ring. i would love to though.

Why do you dress up like a man in the morning? Because you are horny?

Why do I have to be horny to dress like a woman? Many times yes, but not always. Since I feel it is a part of me, the feminine side of me, it makes me feel whole.
I don't have to associate 'sex' to my dressing. Many times that is the case, but not always. I enjoy the feeling of being a woman, even if it is only a fantasy. I never want to give up my manhood. There are times I will dress very conservative, and other times very slutty. Depends on my mood.
