Chicago Litogether 2008 After Action Report

That is just awesome :)

What a good daddy

I think the fairy on the bottom put me over the top (although a pink guitar with pink strings didn't hurt). :D

(But we won't talk about the first two layer cake I've ever made.....)

How awesome! I bet she adores it! and will dedicate better songs than her daddy does! :p :D

I'm thinking the first song I'll play to her on it will be 'Butterfly Kisses'. It is a little better than my choice for yours, isn't it. :D

I would have had pictures on my Ipod (I usually do, to amuse and annoy everyone in range), but I didn't think it would go well with the ones I had stored to show FieryJen.

'At's it man, start 'em early and keep 'em at it. At least most of them. I resisted practicing so hard that I spent my sophomore and junior years in last chair. In my senior year I switched over to voice. Oddly, then I was happy to practice for hours. Go figure.

~Pouts~ You didn't play that song for us!

That's why the song request thread got started. When you know over 1000 songs off the top of your head, it's easy to leave out a bunch of good ones. It kind of turned into a DJ thing, so I just showed up and played whatever I thought of. I was working on Rude Mood, but it wasn't ready (that's a beast to play). I've got to learn Tears In Heaven some day too. That's a really beautiful song.

~Nods~ I was trying to think of some, but it was difficult at the moment. I think I was still in La-La land at that moment. I did enjoy your Metallica though!

Can I be your first audience for Tears In Heaven?

They made me play clarinet in Jr High & High School, and I never made it past second chair (and to this day have a phobia about putting anything wooden in my mouth). I play classical piano and have been a performing guitar/bass player for 20+ years (and a teacher for 15). High school band is not for everyone.

S-Des, way to go. A dear friend of mine plays drums, his son just got accepted to th e New England Conservatory in Boston. He is so proud and so happy. I hope your daughter loves playing the guitar, and music in general. Music is definitely one of my first loves. :)

That's why I miss playing live so much. Sitting there playing acoustically really isn't my thing. Put me in front of a really loud metal band, and I'm home. :D

Maybe I'll bring it for your next shoulder treatment. ;)
