Pssst - the boots are my favorite! I have such a great a...ttitude in them.

I just bought new boots. . .no pic of them yet. :(

You gotta love life changes:rolleyes:. So much change in my life lately I decided to cut my hair SHORT. . .and went from blonde to dark brown:eek:. And no, I still don't feel any better. . .*shrug*

One of the things you and I have talked about being a challenge for the lesbian community is how to meet other women. The gay bars are dominated by youngish women and the lesbian alliance does crafts. Anyone have good tips for meeting other lesbian or bi women?

The whole Lesbian Alliance thing is weird. It's so strange that it's this difficult for the "grown-up" lesbians to find each other! We all want to meet, but there isn't a central place or venue! I like potlucks (speaking of which, watch this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Tc3hykV5hmU ) and crafts, but it seems like a such a strange event to hold as your only regularly scheduled thing.

And just because you're gay doesn't mean it's suddenly going to be easy to meet someone. ;)

No, it's much, much harder to meet someone.
I still have high hopes, though.

Someone out there for everyone. I'm not 100% into girls, but I am bi-curious. My former took me to a club in his hometown where he had this DROPDEAD GEORGEOUS girl give me a lap dance. I think it was at that moment I realized how much girls turn me on. I was dying (but in a good way). . .good lord could that girl move:D!!!

I've never had a lapdance.
I think being that close to pussy without sliding my finger inside might kill me.

I'm not even kidding.

Then I guess we would just have to cuff your hands behind your back and tie your ass to the chair!

Every girl should have at least one! I want more. . .:D

Well, I was admit to being a lesbian but I have an X-husband. Fortunately he broke me of men. Now I'm perfectly happy with Linny :D

Fingernails are one of those things.

When I was straight / bi / monogamous in a relationship with a man, it was always a sign of distinct femininity to grow fingernails. Mine grow easily and strong. I think I started having long fingernails in the second or third grade. They were kind of a point of honor for me.

When I met my last girlfriend (just before I came out) she chided me for my long-ish nails. Now, remember, they weren't terribly long then. I was working as a homebirth midwife, so I kept them under control for many reasons.

But she took one look at my fingernails and said, "No self-respecting lesbian would let her nails get that long. You could do vaginal surgery with those things."

I asked my other lesbian friends. Turns out, she was right.

I got in the habit of keeping my nails short while we were together. Now that we're apart, I have a hard time remembering to clip them frequently. I find that if I let them grow a little, I don't get hit on by other women. So, when I don't want to be hit on, it's pretty easy.

Huh. Fingernails.
The great lesbian divide.
I never would have guessed it a few years ago.

I see the merit in keeping ones fingernails on the short side when identifying as lesbian.

I also believe any self-respecting lesbian that would let an easily modifiable thing like fingernail length dissuade her from engaging a gorgeous woman she meets isn't looking for the right thing in a woman.

:rose:

It's good to see words from you here again.

Real good.

Popping in to say Hi! What I truely miss more than just the girl/girl fun is the relationships. So if you don't mind me pulling up a chair or cuddling up on the couch, I'd love to stay.

You're pushing for my untimely demise? ;)
That seems kind of mean.

Hrm...
I guess...
I like watching strippers.
But I don't think I want the false intimacy of a lapdance.
If I'm going to have a naked girl in my lap, I want her to be mine.

I have an ex-husband, as well.
He has several exes who are now lesbians.

Sometimes he wonders about himself.

Having had a naked woman in my lap more often than I can count I can attest to the immense frustration of the act. ;)

God, that made me choke.

And since I know you, I know this is probably true. I still want to go to a strip club, tho.

The relationships are the thing, aren't they?
I mean, THE thing.

Yes, they are THE thing. Even afterward, cuddling, laughing and just talking. That simple stroke on the arm or pushing the hair back. Men can be wonderful but there is nothing like the relationship between women.

No kidding.
We have, at certain points, called him The Spatula.

Not long ago, he was talking about this hot woman at work. The more he said, the more interested I got. Finally, he took a breath, and I said, "Is she gay?!"

Totally dead-pan, he said, "No. But I could probably turn her for you."

At least he still has a sense of humor.
