i'm talking about industrial use. farming. heavy machinery. transport. things of that nature. not getting groceries and taking the kids to karate. places in europe are also a lot closer so it costs less overall to ship items. apples and oranges.

They need to stop talking alternative fuels unless they are serious about providing the fuel and the technology en masse.

It is affecting the cost of everything.

For example. My Fertilizer cost has increaed 40% two years in a row because of increased corn production, supply and demand for Urea, phosphorous and potassium, and the only place I can get ethanol is in Brazil.

I don't know anyone who is not in a position to cut back on discretionary spending. Gas will get more expensive. That's a fact of life and it has nothing to do with the government. Blame God for not making enough oil.

diesel is cheaper than gas in europe and most cars are diesel over there.

here in the states, diesel is more expensive. we're talking over the $4/gal mark.

Gas is only one of many factors that may have attributed to a recession like condition in this country. However, now many of your senators are talking about an increase on the gasoline tax. Why? Because they are idiots and want more money from people that are already stretched to the limit.

You can also blame a lending industry that has given loans to people that couldn't afford to pay back the loan, all in the name of tacking on higher interests rates and fees to make more money. Too bad it backfired on them.

I'm not for gubmint regulation and I never like to pay more taxes.

seed is also more expensive this year. drought in the southeast plus transit costs have made that happen. this will only make crops this year, should they even get planted, more expensive.

Have your farmers plant corn. The cost of a bushel is up $2.14 from just the fall of 2005.

Thats over a 100 fold increase in bushel price.

All because Mumbles paid lip service to the alternative fuel lobby in his state of the union speech while you have to be on dope to think that this country will ever get away from using oil to produce power.

not all farmers get subsidies. just certain crops in certain areas and farms of a certain size. and the profit margins are teeny tiny to begin with. couple that with high risks, and it's a hard row to hoe.
