What's the screen on the back of a film camera called that allows you to watch what is being filmed as it's being filmed?
I googled and googled but didn't find a relevant page...

Isn't that just the bit you look through, rather than a screen...? (please excuse my ignorance here, I've not had anything to do with movie cameras of any kind)

What exactly are you looking for?
If it is older (1950's/1960's) TV cameras, they used mini CRT monitors, before that there were optical viewfinders.

The very small screen on the camera itself is the viewfinder. Nowadays, the live shot is fed through a cable to a monitor (something like a small TV) that allows the director and about a dozen other people to view it.
