Anyone ever used Craig's List for a hook up? I see the casual encounters posted all the time. I will be Atlanta next month and was thinking of posting for a woman that might want to meet. If anyone has used it, what was the outcome? experience?

I wouldn't bother posting your own ad. You'll only get replies from spam bots and prostitutes. Look for ads from women and answer them carefully. Avoid the too-good-to-be-true ads. They are. Make sure you use a throwaway email address because you'll need to throw it away.

When I was living in Boston, I used Craigslist a number of times for hookups.
(I'm lesbian so YMMV)
But, as has already been mentioned, I didn't post my own ad, and I was VERY particular about what ads I replied to.

Seems like the the right thing would to be straight forward and specific.....but I guess I will have to take a chance as far a replying to emails , then meeting up with who replies (if anyone does)

I am a reformed Craig's List user. Multiple Strictly platonic posts which lead to a few more than platonic relationships. The one Casual encounter contact i made, came through and i became great friends with the person after we ended the 'casual' aspect. Go figure.

I go with the suggestions of being open and honest. It's always fun to make friends in new cities, so ask for a tour guide as well as something more. It's all about chemistry and if you hit it off on email, it makes an in person meeting that much easier.

I've placed hookup ads on Craigslist before. Here's what I find frustrating about the replies I get.

One-line replies "Hey nice ad on Craigslist."

Short replies that make demands. "Send more pictures."

Cock pictures, pictures with their face blurred. Pictures of them with other women...NOT COOL. Pictures that obviously are NOT recent.

Arrogance, know-it-all's, cockiness and rudeness is a surefire way to get ignored.

Replies with no pictures. I want to know who the hell I'm talking to, so a flattering, clear, close-up, RECENT picture of your torso and face are priceless.

Couple that with a well thought-out reply including name, age, physical description, hobbies and interests and sexual likes and fetishes/kinks, and you've got the kind of Craiglist ad/reply that usually got replies from me.

Its spam all of it even when you respond. Go to a bar and pic up a girl. Craigslist sucks. I was just down in florida and I tried the cl thing everyday. Made some ads and got spammer as replies then when I replied I only got one real hit. It was a lady older than my mom and she wanted me to eat her pussy. Thats it what about me you know. Plus craigslist has been on the news alot county sherrifs have been doing stings for underage stuff and prostitution.


Don't do it bud and stay out of erotic services for sure!
