Dear Peter at Tech Support,

Just a couple years ago I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I recently noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. No mention of this was included with the product information. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now launches during system initialization, where it monitors all other system activity.

Applications such as Naked Stripper Night 10.3, Drunk Ass E Night 2.5, My Money 5.0, Hunting and Fishing 7.5 and Racing 3.6 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I was thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the Uninstall didn’t work on Wife 1.0.

Please help! Thanks,
Signed,
Big ol' E

Dear Big E,

This is a very common problem that men complain about. It is due to a primary misconception among men. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 thinking that it is merely a Utilities and Entertainment program.

Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its creator to runeverything! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and return to Girlfriend 7.0. Hidden operating system files cause Girlfriend 7.0 to emulate Wife 1.0 so nothing is gained. It is impossible to uninstall, delete, or purge the program files from the system once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Some have tried to install Girlfriend 8.0 or Wife 2.0 but end up with more problems than in the original system.

Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under "Warnings: Maintenance/Child Support".

I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and work on improving the situation. Try installing the background application program Yes_Dear to alleviate software augmentation. Having installed Wife 1.0 myself in the past, I also suggest that you read the entire section regarding "General Partnership Faults (GPFs)". You must assume all responsibility for any faults and problems that occur, regardless of their cause. You will also find that GPFs tend to be somewhat cyclical, occurring approximately 28 days apart. The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE.

Avoid excessive use of C:\YES_DEAR because ultimately you will have to use the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway. Remember, the system will run smoothly as long as you take the blame for all GPFs.

Wife 1.0 can be a great program, but tends to require very high maintenance. Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs such as Clean_and_Sweep 3.0, Cook_It 1.5 (which replaces Burn_It 1.0) and Do_Bills 4.2. You must however be very careful how you use
these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Bitch_Bitch 9.5.

Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 should this happen.

WARNING!! *DO NOT* under any circumstances, install Secretary_With_Short_Skirt. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

Best of luck.

Actually, big E, you can uninstall, but it's very, very expensive. :D Because, as John Belushi said, "nothing is over until we decide it is!"

Have a nice Valentines Day, boys!

My father in law sent me a copy of this years ago :)
When his daughter was being, shall we say, moody?

24 and a half down, a lifetime to go :D

Do you have one for boyfriend 7.0 to husband 1.0. Turn about is fair play afterall... It goes both ways... And all that such nonsense....

The problem with this upgrade is that it somehow erases programs like Flowers 2.1 and Chocolates 3.5. Diamonds 5.0? fugeddaboutit. You'll never get this back on your machine. Also, basic commands like "Take out the trash" and "How about fixing the washer, sweetie?" usually have to be activated more than once before they actually work.

LOL!

I am the linux version, and my wife 1.OH is worse than Microsoft BOB.

That why I use my Palm so extensively ;)

The only answer is Wife 1.5. This is not always a successful installation. Once Mrs. V_M understood the necessity of installing 1.5, Husband 1.0 became much happier. Unfortunately, it took a very long time for her to acquire 1.5 and by then the children were both gone and we were approaching retirement. Still, there's fire in the hearth even thought there's snow on the roof and regularly scheduled dates have made the operation much smoother. The sad part is that the manual states quite clearly that installing 1.5 does not guarantee any change in Husband 1.0.

The real issue with Husband 1.0 is how many times you have to feed it instructions before it recognizes them.

Have you noticed that HusbandKiss_4.0 seems nowhere near as powerful as BoyfriendKiss_3.5? It always seemed to end up closer to PeckOnTheCheek_1.0. That I could have gotten from my brother.:D

Usually by the time you reach Husband 3.0 they have come with all the upgrades. Dishwashing 2.3, Back_Rubs 1.7, with Feet_Too 1,01 as a recent patch. Fine_Dining 1.0 and Lit_R8TC v 1.3 will be available on February 14th. BUY NOW...:D

AND COMING SOON

You should have bought the 'shareware' version

I've often regarded both the Wife and Girlfriend programs as rather like accounting programs, with a very odd weighting system.

Credits are weighted very low, debits very high. There simply aren't enough hours in the day to overcome a single debit. And staying up that late will add another debit.

So when the balancing of books comes, you're always deeply in the hole. ;)
