Professional Football Championship Game, February 3, 2008.
Here is my annual SuperBowl Propositions Game:
It’s fun and easy to play! Each proposition has a number assigned to it. Select a number that corresponds to your prediction and “vote” the number of that proposition. We each have 100 “votes.” You may NOT Parlay – all votes are cast prior to Kick-off. You may vote all 100 votes on a single proposition or spread them out as you wish. You need not cast all your votes. Calculate the accuracy of your voting using the parenthetical numbers. For example: Osama wishes to vote 10 of its 100 votes on the Proposition that there will be a Safety in the game. Its vote would be as follows: Proposition 3545 - Win 70 additional points (80 points total for the vote – return ON the successful vote is 70 and the return OF the vote is 10. 70+10=80) since its Proposition is +700. Got it? Okay… one more example: Latrina is going to cast 5 votes on the Proposition that Tom Brady (NE) throws a touchdown pass before he throws an interception. Thus, since Latrina’s Proposition (3660) is a –360 Proposition, her 5-vote ballot would be as follows: Win 1.35 additional points to receive a total of 6.35 votes (since she had to give up 3.60 votes because it was more likely than not that she was right). Alright, alright: one final example for those of you whose parents could not afford to send you to private school: MukTuk is going to cast 5 of his votes on the Proposition that the first scoring play of the game will be a Patriots touchdown pass. Since that is a +180 Proposition (9/2), MukTuk’s vote will read as follows: Proposition 3307 – get 9.0 votes to receive a total of 14.0 votes. If you don’t understand this, don’t ever go to Las Vegas; it you DO go to Las Vegas, just go to the M&Ms and Coca-Cola museums and get back to the hotel before dark.
We each start out with 100 "votes." The winner is the person with the greatest number of votes won at the end of the game.
