Not a chance encounter.............

I am proposing a get together here at our home. A chance for more of us to meet in the flesh.
My thoughts are that we can put a weekend together to meet more of you, have intelligent conversation, learn from each other, and share some great food.
This could happen either in March or April to give everyone a chance to plan ahead.
We will open our house to camp out as well to save everyone the cost of a hotel, I am seeing this as a big, adult, sleepover.
If Homburg can make it, there is the possibility of adding some new rope bunnies to the club as well!
This is just an idea at the moment, but if you are available, and want to have some fun with like minded people, let me know your thoughts and ideas.
I am going to continue my platform of taking your BDSM to the real level. What better way to do this than in the company of people you have come to know here on Lit.
With the cost of airfares going down, and our close proximity to Boston, we could even arrange to pick you up!

I'm leaving Denmark on march 12th for a 4 week vacation, first 2 weeks in Malaysia, and then 2 weeks in Australia

That sounds like a fun vacation. Post a thread here please. Stick in the cafe. You could call it something like "The traveling ShyGuy" or something, if it makes it seem more releveant ... hehe.

March would work for me and almost anything in April except the 1st weekend...I'll be in VA Beach for classes and its my wedding anniversary weekend.

I am totally down with meeting up with everyone. This would be a blast!! My only problem is that Jim will be having His spring break from law school in march and my birthday is in april. i will be planning a small vacation for us in Savannah (to hopefully create a love affair between the city and Jim) during this time and will need to focus my energy towards this.

Bubbles made a comment to me the other day that there are a number of you all wanting to come to Atlanta for DragonCon at the end of August. (August 29 - September 1, 2008) Could this possibly subsitute for a summer gathering? It might serve as a dual purpose for those of you who are already committed to coming down for the conference. While I will not be attending D*C, I would totally be up for hosting some dinners, a low-key social or two and if we can convince Homburg to attend, we might even get a rope demo set up at 1763. So you guys let me know if this is another idea possiblity for those of you who can't make it to the march/april event.

Ok.. works perfect here too. Not doing it 1st week of April anyhow ... that is the week of the 14 year old's .. 15th birthday.

Our anniversary is about 2-3 weeks after your's Nala.

So far Nala is coming. If no one else says they can come too......... so far it's a 3 person weekend long party ! rofl

The March - April dates were just thrown out there, we can do this at a more convenient time for all.

As most of you know, I am awaiting a heart transplant, and because of this I cannot travel farther than 4 hours from the transplant hospital, or I must make arrangements to have a helicopter available to get me within the 4 hour window. 5 years ago I traveled to Southern New Jersey, it took me 3 days to arrange all the details of that trip.

I just want to clarify my point of this thread, it is an opportunity to meet people in real life, I am not discussing or critiquing those in "cyber" or "online" relationships. I just find value in being able to meet people that I previously only had the chance to chat with electronically.

We have every other weekend sans children, you folks come up with a better date, and we can do it. If we wait until the spring or summer, there is more to do in the area, that could add to the fun as well.

Our travel range is restricted. We have to stay within range of the transplant hospital.

That shouldn't be hard. Savannah has a way of letting you in and making you one of her own. Hands down one of the most beautiful cities with great character. I went for four years and stayed for thirteen. I'm already plotting a trip back up there...hopefully around St Patrick's Day (those are some great memories) next year. Have a Chatham Artillery Punch for me!

Yes, I am hoping the Buffalo transplant (Jim) will fall in love with Savannah as much as he has fallen in love with Atlanta. Right now he is in Law School in KY *shudders* but wants to return to GA once he finishes. I hope to get him to intern in the city this coming summer- but i'm afraid i might lose him to Seattle, WA
