Would international forum life be easier if they showed dual times: yours and the poster's?
Let me attempt to explain:
We tend to react differently to things depending on our mood. Our mood changes, dependant on our circumstances and, I believe, the time of day.
We're much more likely to be loose and philosophical (like now) when the stresses of the day are passed, after dinner, the kids are asleep and we've got an alcoholic beverage to wind down with.
But on an international forum, one man's (man is used here as a shortform for "human") evening wind down is another's morning shitfight or lunchtime stress relief.
For instance, right now it is jsut after 10pm Tuesday night. Yet I know it is about 9am (I think) in the UK and seriously ugly hours in the US (sorry, rest of the world, I only immediately know the big 2, and then only vaguely).
If we immediately knew the time of day a person was posting, we could allow for their time-of-the-day mood.
Whatcha reckon? Is it just the wine talking or am I onto something?

It's 11am here.

I've been up for hours waiting for a delivery that was scheduled anytime from 7am to 1pm and I'm getting annoyed. I've got a meeting at 2pm, another meeting at 6.30 pm and I'm out of coffee but I can't go get some until the delivery arrives!!!

Gave up waiting. Went to get coffee and saw delivery van with front wheels buried in a public house's pavement hatch.

I don't think my delivery will arrive on time!

It's now 17 minutes past noon Greenwich Mean Time, pouring hard with a gale. Luckily for us the tide is out so all the surplus water is rushing out on to the beach. At high tide the sluice gates are closed and the rainwater backs up and floods the roads.

three timezones here. I'm eastern, central is 1/2 hour behind and western is 2 hours behind.
And I'm off to bed ;)

I think that's a great idea... I also need to figure out how to move to BST during the summer, as the whole of last summer the forum was one hour behind the real time for me...

6:27 am here.

(The U.S. has four main time zones; I'm in the middle, so on the east coast its an hour ahead of me, on the west coast; two hours behind)
Cloudy and I are both on Witch's Standard Time. They insist on calling it "Central".

i dunno. i can be pissed off whatever the time is.

i'm turning into a grumpy old man!

it could be worth a survey though.

in addition, what about seasonal differences? warm and sunny in Oz (in most areas anyway), but in UK it pretty much poosville weatherwise. the weather affects moods an'all dun't it?

Yeah. It's been very hot lately. Turns me into a seriously cranky old hag.
Today has started overcast and much cooler, fingers crossed it stays that way.
8.10am Wednesday here.

But then there are morning people and there are night people. All a little too complicate to equalize.

wanna house swap for a few months?

i'm sure i tried that tactic on the aussie thread.

Now that rather depends on how damn cold it is wherever you are...

At one time I had this clock gizmo that sat up on the tool bar. It had a dozen little clocks so I could see the time around the world.

 I wonder whatever happen to it. Probably about a dozen computers back when things like that were fun.
