I finally got my wife the Christmas present she's always wanted - a REVERSE OSMOSIS FILTER!!!
She's pretty excited about it. They're coming to install it next week and she's making plans for PURE, CLEAN, COFFEE!!!

It's the simple things...

My last trip to town was 11/24 and not holiday related.

I have to go this Friday the 12th, again not holiday related.

My next trip will be the second week of January.

We do exactly the same thing with Costco shopping. We will stock-up in late October or early November, and won't go near the place until late January. And never on weekends, any time of year!

For products we depend on for their consistency such as dog food*, this gets a little dicey towards the end of the boycott period. Some OTC medications like things my cardiologist recommends are important, too, because the Walgreens versions are 4 to 10X more expensive per dose than the same thing at Costco.

* - You don't go messin' around with sudden dog food diet changes. Upsets their systems.

Last year I put those Govee permanent outdoor lights on the house because we live in a VERY dark neighborhood (right across the street from a giant swamp) they're quite handy, They're usually set to a soft white to illuminate the house. On Thanksgiving I fire up the Govee app, select "Christmas" and my lights are up! Life can be easy.

My wife installed some LED strips along our porch railings for extra light. They change colors! So normally we keep them at a soft blue but right now theyre red and green.


I do not feel at all well today. Nothing concerning, just stomach upset, cramps, and a low-grade fever. But I feel generally worse than at any point since the first night after surgery. Bleccccch.

Not mine either. Now that I don't drive, I don't see/hear as much of the holiday stuff. I do wonder why so many people go wild buying gifts they can't afford for people who won't appreciate them. Let's just skip over to the middle of January.

yuk - same here too... I haven't felt this bad in a long time. Is it the new meds they have me on? I'm constantly cold. I have a small heater pumping out BTUs and I can feel it, but I'm still cold. Swapping back and forth between writing and Anime. I started re-writing a series, un-fanfic-ing the story so I can sell it... but then there's Spy X Family...

This show is hilarious! The worlds greatest superspy needs a family for a cover, so he got a woman to act as his wife, then he signed an orphan out of a sketchy orphanage, and they picked up a stray dog as a pet for the girl. The spy can disguise himself as anyone. The woman is the worlds greatest assassin (but she's kind of stupid) the little girl is a telepath so she knows what anyone or anything is thinking, and the dog can see the future. I'm really hoping I feel sick tomorrow so I can stay at home and watch more of this

Then again, the boss has no idea how I'm really feeling...

I wrote 1600 words of (probably too detailed) outlining for something I'm not supposed to be working on right now. I woke up way too early and couldn't stop the story from rattling around.

Now I have a fever so that might be the end of it today.

Another chilly morning and I forgot to set the garbage can out last night so, of course, the garbage man decided to come through early this morning. We might get a few flakes this morning but nothing serious.

There's a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the teapot is hot. The hot cocoa is on the back burner - just remember to remove it from the stove if you take the last of it. There are donuts and cookies on the counter along with a quiche I made for those who are hungry. I see a few more presents under the tree and it looks like @sirhugs has a bit of a fan club going ...

I'll be over in the corner wondering if I'm going to write anything today (or ever) since the reception of my last four submissions have been less than encouraging. Maybe I need to take a break and reassess what I want to do with my stories. I don't know ... I'll probably be writing away later on anyway just to stay sane ...
