What are we all writing right now?

I’m feeling a bit…what do I do next?

I published the novel, no feedback incoming as yet, but I have found a subsequent litany of edits I would like to make to tidy it up, and tighten it up overall. Also considering a 10th chapter for act 3.

Am I overthinking? Over worrying? Itchy writing fingers maybe?

I’ve done the hard work - but I can’t seem to stop wanting to work on it…

Does it ever really end?

I'm writing a family history based on my genealogical research. I am working on my paternal line now, a second edition, but I need to revise the book on my maternal line, too. It is a job that never ends. An elderly English teacher cousin said I was a genius because my footnotes were in correct form in the first maternal line's history. She has low standards for genius.

Mostly prayers that my Winter Holiday 2025 story will get published before the contest ends, maybe even in time to get some votes. :D

Putting together an Erotic Coupling called “Layover Liaison”. Attractive flight attendant and passenger hook up during a time between connections in Barcelona. Still taking shape but should be fun to write and out soon.

I submitted my lumberjacks story last night (approved over night, appearing on Thursday) and back to my pink orchid novel. Realized I have the wrong POV for the current chapter, so hopefully I can be back to progress there.

Current WIP is the first episode in the second & final batch of the 'Adam at Large' series. I have combined the outlines of two episodes into a single work.

I plan to write four more episodes in the series, then move on to another with a different lead character.

Trying to wrap up my story that started off being about catching someone writing erotica in public, turned into a story about a high-end BDSM matchmaking service, and is now apparently about restaurant food.

I should probably break that into chapters when I publish it, huh?

I want to finish it so I can go back to my Humans are Space Australians sci-fi story. Also want to print out everything I've web-published in the last 2 months and do an editing pass.

I'm working on one wherein the FMC is trying not to cheat on her boyfriend with her brother. But her boyfriend is a dick. She will cheat. Just trying to figure out if vindicating her afterwards (with the bf cheating too, on top of being a dick) is too cowardly.

Wrote ~400 words of a conversation. I like it. It's in the wrong place. Moved it to a save-for-later document, deleted it from the story. Wrote ~250 words of the conversation going in a different direction. I like it. It's also in the wrong place and at the wrong time. Moved it to a save-for-later document, deleted it from the story. Third time's the charm, I guess.

Yes! Finally feeling the flow (hope this hasn't jinxed it) on a brand new story idea. Two straight girls agree to be each other's back up - if they are still single at thirty-five they'll get married...
Oh God. "The backup" is such a charming breeding ground for plot bunnies. You can throw ANY trope you want in there, and it's cute AF. Jock and goth girl / boy? Do it. Science nerd and bad boy? Hells yes. Maybe-slightly-alcoholic musician and straight-laced Christian? Adorable.

Cuteness all the way down.

The only wrench is that it’s super predictable.

I’d spice it up by having two such pairs of friends meet, which results in two overlapping triangles at first (or more complicated figures, depending on which way they swing) but ultimately, the characters end up not falling back to their own backups but rather the “other” ones.
