One of the first things I was taught (and later taught to recruits) is that the criminals are going to do criminal things that make you angry, BUT you NEVER can give in to that anger and break the law by ignoring the guidelines / rules of “The Use of Force Continuum”:

Um, no. Minnesota law demanded the most severe charge of second degree murder - as well as the lesser charges that disgrace to law enforcement was convicted of.
