Dude, you are woefully uninformed. SNAP is a supplemental nutrition assistance program, commonly known as food stamps.

The reason SNAP is not being funded is because Democrats in Congress have shut down the government. Senate Democrats are using the filibuster to block a clean continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government open. House Republicans passed the clean CR back in September that would temporarily extend former President Biden’s budget.

Senate Democrats have been filibustering the clean CR for over a month. A majority of GOP Senators have repeatedly voted to break the filibuster and have been joined by 3 conscientious Democrats who understand the damage their party is inflicting on millions of people.

The Senate Democrats blocking SNAP and other government operations are demanding new legislation that would override existing legislation that sunsets COVID emergency ACA insurance subsidies at the end of this year. The sunset was in a bill that every single Democrat previously voted for, and President Biden signed.

Democrats are holding government employees and others who rely on federal spending, including SNAP recipients, hostage. Let that sink in.

There *might* be a $6 billion reserve to fund November benefits but it won’t be enough. The problem is the cost to serve everyone is $8 billion. Although two different district judges have ordered the $6 billion, there are legal questions about whether the White House has authority, and a myriad of questions about which 25% percent of beneficiaries get left out. No matter what, this problem does not get solved until Democrats end their blackmail and allow President Biden’s budget to be extended long enough to negotiate a new budget.

I pay taxes and want people who need SNAP to receive it. If that includes you and if you live in a blue state, I suggest you call your senator(s) and tell them to open the government.

The good news for you: uneducated white women ARE by and large (pun semi-intended), most likely to be obese.
White men? Middle income white men have the highest percentage of obesity. Not the poor
Black women? Split equally amongst income level. Not (just) the poor.
Black men? An outlier I suspect, but the more a black man earns the more likely he is to be obese. Go figure.
Educated white women in the high income category are the clear "winners" here with only 29% obesity rate. Keep in mind that this demographic is most likely to have access to weight loss drugs and cosmetic surgery.
No statistical sigificance between whites and Hispanics.

You should do a little more research into who is on food stamps. It include active military, people with full-time jobs, etc. Even Walmart has a food pantry set up for its employees because they pay them so little

My oldest lives 20 minutes from us and we have family dinner every week and often watch their dog and we work out together a couple of days a week. I have a wonderful relationship with my sons and my daughter in law.

I don’t know if you remember the debate in the past about "junk food" (etc) purchases with SNAP benefits, but the primary argument for allowing the purchase of those items was freedom & fairness.

Imagine being a family that could NEVER buy Doritos or Soda or Chicken nuggets or candy, etc because you were in the position of receiving SNAP benefits.

Sure, some (maybe many) abuse the ability to buy those items, but sometimes those “vice items” are a guilty pleasures that no one should be denied.

As a matter of fact, my entire family is currently enjoying some Buffalo Wings, barbecue ribs, curly fries, blue cheese & ranch dips, Doritos and salsa, various liquors, beer, wine, and sodas, etc as we’re watching the World Series and college football. And the kids (and some of the adults) are scarfing down some of the Halloween candy from yesterday’s haul.

Just sayin’…
