When I first came here, there was the usual rush of people in my inbox and I was polite and respond to everybody. I don’t like to offend people so I would chat about general daily stuff. The “nice guys” were the worst. I could be chatting about my day and before I knew it, they had turned the conversation into giving me a massage or bathing me. They back you into a corner where you do feel threatened. I would use humour to deflect the situation and the conversation would end.

If I said that I wasn’t interested in that kind of chat and it made me uncomfortable, they would say they were only joking but they would do the same thing the next time we chatted.

Women are a little different that way, respect wise. Male here. I shut down an offer to flirt not long ago, haven't heard from the woman since. I'm ok with that because that's some sort of respect anyway, unlike many guys here who don't let it go.
