The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Amen. I second Boat’s thoughts on this. Lost mine in ‘21 and you go through all the stages. Then you remember the good times…it takes time to heal.
I’m with you guys. My dad and I could be really contentious at times. He was not an easy or simple guy. But he was smart as the day is long.

But when he passed away I have to say I had and have many more fond memories of him.

So, funny story. I decided to get a tattoo to remember him by. He always liked the book, “where the wild things are” and he would read it to me as a little kid… so I got this tattoo and memory of him. I’m chatting away with the tattoo artist and he want to make sure he had the numbers right. The tattoo artist and I are good friends and we have a long punk rock background together and we were just shooting the bullshit.

Next morning, I took off the bandage and was horrified to see that I had the wrong year of his death on my arm! The picture said 2007 but it looks like a 2009 so in the tattooist asked me if it was 2009, I said yes… if you look closely, you can see that he used some “white out” on the nine and turned into a seven with a cross… which incidentally is what my dad always did with sevens. 😂😂😂

This is the first year we have enough. The first trees in are really starting to produce now. It wasn't that long ago, we had enough to make one pie.

When the rest of the 25 trees get rolling...
Let's just say that will be a different problem! And I'll be less worried about how many the mobile venison machines get. Hopefully we'll be set up for cider by that point, too.
Sounds amazing!

Caught up.

Now it's time to start knocking trees over before they knock over the spare house. It is amazing how many people love shade trees, but don't know how much damage they can do when they decide to retire. Best to give them a forced retirement.

Hope you all have a great Sunday.
Trees are wonderful.

Except for when they fall on your home or car.

And your roof should bake in the sun.

Well, travelling down to England was a success on Friday. My talk went down well and I had a great night with 65 other hunters. The following day they took me out on their marshes and I managed to shoot three geese. More than that it was a fabulous flight with glorious sunrise and thousands of geese on the move… fabulous!
Sounds like it was great trip. I’d say it’s a home run, but maybe a hat trick is the better analogy!

Back from the Halloween gig in downtown. It had a large turnout and the merchants handing out goodies. They closed off Main Street and that made walking easier with the crowds. The grandkids had a fabulous time.

The cool air meant I had that nap when I got home. I am going to do more things with my grandson this week too.

My Detroit team is off today so caught I caught up on the Eagles and Ravens.

And eat some apples. I heard it keeps the doctors away 😂
Sounds like a great time for the young uns and the not as young uns!

Spilt and stacked another 2/3 of a cord today. Also got the floor and about half the framing done on the solar kiln.

So productive day.

I’m off to Toronto at the butt crack of dawn. Should be interesting with the new tariffs that were levied and also the blue jays being in the World Series.

Maybe in 2021 as I was acquiring more anvil automobiles after having settled on a model I like (still do), I came across the sad tale of the car in that ad. They shot that commercial, put the car in a warehouse with the windows open, and left it sit for years. The vermin trashed the inside. It finally came up for sale and a guy in Delaware bought it with the idea of taking the body off it and putting it on a Ford something-or-other (truly a sacrilege). The engine and frame were for sale but Wat missed it/them. They went to a guy in Maryland and he's building a retro roadster. He did sell me some miscellaneous parts.

Fast forward to an hour ago. I contacted a guy in Delaware with an anvil for sale for body parts. It's a long wheel-base car, and I need a good driver's front fender. His pictures kinda suck, but okay. I was messaging with him and he told me that it was what's left of Jack's car. Thinking like Wat, I also realized that if the floors are okay, Wat has a good sedan with a shitty body (rust - lotsa rust). I need the fender for my rare big coupe (1 of 17 or 1 of 23 depending who you ask). He failed on his project, but I think I can salvage the rest of what's left.

No trips to NJ to see this one.

Sorry . . . .

I lost Dad in 2004 and it was Meh then and it's Meh now.

I lost my grandfather in 1981 and I think of him several times a week.

I lost Calypso 27 months ago and think of him daily.

Make of that what you will . . . .
I guess it all depends on the relationship or something. My dad could be a bit much, but he was always supportive, and got a new gun for me when he thought I had a new guy ;)
I haven't shot a gun since I was young.
Strangely, he didn’t want me to see violent tv or films, but R rated were fine as long as there was no violence.

My father was inconsistent, my grandfather was consistently firm, and the horse loved me unconditionally. I felt the humans weren't capable of that.

Off to hit the rack. 0300 and shit . . . .

Thanks for the hugs!
It's not all bad, but sometimes I don't know why I do what I do.... I've been asked how I got into this and I really don't know.
I've replied "I don't know, maybe it was a stupid, drunk, high thing to do." 🤣🤣🤣
It's probably a fairly good job with some risk to it but also with relatively good pay. You do it to keep your Goddess in a lifestyle commensurate with your love for her! 💞💖

Yep.i monitored them from400 miles away. It’s in almost every room but not all has video. I also have Alexa emergency so they can call for help from any where in the house and it contacts 911. It’s pretty slick. I also have ring door bells and cams connected to it all and a couple blink ones. They can listen to Amazon music, check the temp in their rooms, call any of their children via Alexa. I might be pushing the tech a bit but why not?
I love it! A way to keep tabs on your aging parent without having to move in. 🥰
