The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Morning, spoonies
Way too early for my liking
But it's still the weekend, so I feel a nap in my future
Everyone I want to talk with has their own individual ring tone. If it's just my generic phone ring tone, I may or may not answer... 😅
I tried that but couldn't keep track of them all. Just siblings, niblings, and in-laws? At one point there were 3 dozen
Plus, I'm sorry, but a couple of crackerjack ringtones for a few were not appropriate when out in public. Perfect for them - but wow! :ROFLMAO:
I had a productive day today. Knocked out two projects.

My powder room is basically done now.
Beautiful! I love what you've done. And your sink?? Gorgeous
It's not all bad, but sometimes I don't know why I do what I do.... I've been asked how I got into this and I really don't know.
Life takes some interesting twists and turns sometimes, doesn't it?
Yep.i monitored them from400 miles away. It’s in almost every room but not all has video. I also have Alexa emergency so they can call for help from any where in the house and it contacts 911. It’s pretty slick. I also have ring door bells and cams connected to it all and a couple blink ones. They can listen to Amazon music, check the temp in their rooms, call any of their children via Alexa. I might be pushing the tech a bit but why not?
I love that they connect to emergency services now. When my sister got a dot for my mom, she could call us kids but not 911 if needed. She had taken her first fall - so that was a disappointment to us all. Mom refused a pendant but would allow the dot.
Oh yeah. Well... therecwere some cute costumes!!
A family came as a carnival family. Think the muscle man, trapeze artist etc
There was a baby dressed like a dinasaur and they dressed her wagon up like jurassic park
I love how creative some costumes are. So much fun
But I could talk to the cats remotely, and that might be fun.
Please, Please set up a Nanny Cam to capture this event!! What I'm imagining is epic!!
Not the 3 am club and did make it to 4 before old dog needed to go out. I will take another nap. I learned how to nap in an airplane many times on business trips.
My non-work night sleep gets really out of whack sometimes. Thank goodness my body reconsidered its position on naps about 5 years ago.
Yesterday was firewood day. I had to fill up nearly all of our firewood bins at the farm stand. Sold a lot last week.

Then I mowed the lawn. It needed it.

Visited my friend in rehab hospital. He’s really not doing great. I’m not sure how he’s gonna function when he gets back. It’s tough to see. I’m hoping he can get some home health help. 🤞🤞🤞

Went to our neighbors for a Halloween party. I didn’t make a costume. I know… lame.

One couple was Mr and Mrs roper (from 3s company), a dinaosaur couple, Milo from the descendants album logo, a human fly (cute not gross).

Today I’m gonna try to get most of my the solar kiln all framed out. I got the base and floor made last weekend.
Is that all? Slacker 😏
Bummer about your friend... hope he gets the help and support he needs. 🫂
It was a great trip and the color was good! First time I have seen it in years. The wedding was great and the bride was beautiful!
Win Column! Glad you had a good trip and the wedding was a hit!
If you need help, I will tuck you in!
Yes, please... I'm ready for my nap now.
Being single, I've found that a nap with a weighted blanket is delightful. I find the weight too much for overnight but a nap? It's like a warm hug while you sleep.

The cat prank videos are hilarious!

We are kindred spirits!

In high school, I thought The Who were the greatest band ever.

Then it was all punk rock.

Then in my early 20s it was the who again.

Then I proclaimed that the holy trinity of bands that were all better than the Beatles: the who, The Kinks and the Small Faces.

Some time in the late 80s I thought the Leaving Trains were the greatest band in America.

In the 90s I thought Blur was the best band on the planet.

Early 2000s - it was Squeeze. I proclaimed them better than the Beatles.

Then i got into Spoon. “The best rock band of all time.”

In the early teens, I was so into westbound train.

Then Tom Waits!

Somewhere in the mid teens I was cuckoo for The Duke Spirit.

The Aggrolites, the pietasters, hub city stompers when I went on a ska kick.

Somewhere in there, maybe the teens, I was really into the hives. I think we saw them like seven or eight times. And there were Street Dogs.

I’m pretty opinionated about music and who is the best band in the planet. I guess it just depends which way the wind blows. 😂
Amen brother. I could talk about music and genres all day. I’m all over the board and have a liking for just about every genre…except a lot of the new pop, and I include pop country in that.

Funny what shapes our musical makeup. My parents were of the Elvis generation. My grandparents were Grand Ol’ Opry and Hee Haw types, with a dose of Laurence Welk thrown in. Much more cosmopolitan aunties and uncles were into more modern. Of course growing up on 70’s radio is really what got deep into my soul. Oh, honorable mention should go to Momma. She sang in the church choir so our house was filled with gospel music of her practicing for the next Sunday’s songs.

We only had four channels back then. One Top 40, one Album oriented FM long play as they called it, one R&B/Soul station, one Country, and the public channel that I attribute my love of Classical (along with the Bugs Bunny cartoons that featured those timeless pieces!😂).

Then as you’ve pointed out, the HS phase, the College phase, the GF’s that were into…something…that I got into phase.
SWMBO phase🙄…honestly our shared love of music is probably what has saved us!🤣

Around about the time I got out of the service and moved back home a new station had popped up, they were an independent station, so could do and play anything they wanted. They operated under the banner of Adult Alternative but would play Willie/Waylon/Merle song followed by Bob Marley and then Elvis Costello and the Mavericks. They quickly became a favorite, as such as things go, the big boys came in and promptly bought them up, added a ton of advertisements and made them much more corporate…with the exception of the format. That worked and so it stayed…although in a stuffier sort of way.

All that to say, I discovered a lot new roots type American music. They sponsor a lot of the concerts that drift through town and I’ve found a lot of things like “NewGrass”, amped up Bluegrass, and a bunch of those bands do whistle stops in town now.

Well shit…half a dozen paragraphs about music love. Alright Spooners. I want to hear some other music stories…don’t let Wonderer and myself down!🤣

Home from yet another exciting edition of Groceries at Wally's. Dr. Tyler's store is a bit better than mine - better clientele, generally. The check-out experience was st000pider. I have a register jockey who is well-trained, and I got a moe-ronn this morning at the other store. No matter, it's over now.

Landlady says that Daisy was sleeping on her bed in front of the couch.Fred the Former Barn cat turned Queen of the House walked past Daisy's considerable rear end, stopped, turned, and swatted Daisy's ass. Daisy turned and looked and then got up and moved across the room where it was more peaceful.

I did mention that we believe that Fred and Ethyl are sisters, right???

Apples at the farmers market are in real good shape this year. Also lots of variety too. I had a cinnamon crisp yesterday and so good. I bake apple crisps and no longer pies. Send some down here ok?😂
This is the first year we have enough. The first trees in are really starting to produce now. It wasn't that long ago, we had enough to make one pie.

When the rest of the 25 trees get rolling...
Let's just say that will be a different problem! And I'll be less worried about how many the mobile venison machines get. Hopefully we'll be set up for cider by that point, too.

Caught up.

Now it's time to start knocking trees over before they knock over the spare house. It is amazing how many people love shade trees, but don't know how much damage they can do when they decide to retire. Best to give them a forced retirement.

Hope you all have a great Sunday.

Well, travelling down to England was a success on Friday. My talk went down well and I had a great night with 65 other hunters. The following day they took me out on their marshes and I managed to shoot three geese. More than that it was a fabulous flight with glorious sunrise and thousands of geese on the move… fabulous!

Back from the Halloween gig in downtown. It had a large turnout and the merchants handing out goodies. They closed off Main Street and that made walking easier with the crowds. The grandkids had a fabulous time.

The cool air meant I had that nap when I got home. I am going to do more things with my grandson this week too.

My Detroit team is off today so caught I caught up on the Eagles and Ravens.

And eat some apples. I heard it keeps the doctors away 😂
