The Official Authors' Hangout Winter Holidays 2025 Support Thread

I really do not mean to poke the bear by posting this here. However, the contest opens on November 11 and closes December 5.

With the reported lengthy delays from submission date to publication date what is a recommended date to post a story for the contest?

From what's been reported on the forum, there have been few, if any, long delays on stories submitted for Halloween contest. Nothing like the Crime and Punishment event, which seemed to get the worst beating of anything. I think there is a good chance the Winter contest will be largely unaffected by the pending problems.

I think oir should be okay if you copy and paste the phrase "WINTER HOLIDAY 2025" to the "Notes to Admin" field of the submission (quotes are not needed).

Laurel uses that to search for the entries and it should pick them up regardless.

Thanks. I hope that is the case

back to working on mine. Got sidetracked by a plot bunny a few days ago that became the Halloween story I just submitted. Two contests in a row, damn... :)

Santa sprained something important this year while trying to fulfill one of the Missus' wishes, so he's laid up. She feels bad and will be making the rounds.

What happens at all the houses where a hot young thing is expecting the old guy?

Well, he has lots of reindeer, and reindeer are hung like.....?????

This thing got way chunkier on me than I was expecting.

Can a person "that's what she said" themselves? No? Damn.

I'm working on mine right this moment. It's been a bit locked up, but it's flowing again now.

The usual. Woman falls for younger man at work, then fucks him when she finds herself fleeing an unexpected orgy at her house featuring her best friends ravaging her son and his army buddies.

Ho ho ho.
Darn it, I had the same story cooking except the friends were in the navy.

Back to brainstorming, I guess.

Just finished with my story.

I'll wait until early November, give it my customary one read-through, and submit. I like the story a lot, but it's nearly 40k words with just one ejaculation. That's an interesting proportion, I think. We'll see if I still like it in November.

Well, it does have punishment in the name…

More on point: I submitted my Halloween story only a few hours before deadline, and it got approved quickly enough to be going live tomorrow. So, contests seem indeed unaffected by whatever issues are currently plaguing the submission queue. I’d still recommend you submit your stuff early, of course.

I decided to just forget the issues and submit a regular story yesterday. Approved by this morning, and set to publish tomorrow. Fingers crossed it all goes well, but it does seem like my normal submission-to-publication timeline.

I hope Mrs. Claus is packing a strap-on! :nana:
