Happy International Lesbian Day! What's your favourite lesbian story or scene on Lit?

Sorry to come back to this when the thread has moved on, but...

I remembered what my second thing was!

You mentioned "path to success" and there's loads of ways that can be interpreted. I've talked about top lists. But the other thing it seems all writers here crave are comments.

Now, I was just recommending The Almost Perfect series by @TheRedChamber to you. I think it's great, even though the second story involves stuff I'm not much into usually, but the writing is so good I'm hooked into the characters enough to get past that. However, it doesn't have many comments: certainly not as many as I feel it merits.

One of the reasons for that might be that TheRedChamber doesn't publish enough in the Lesbian sex category to have attracted the attention of the mega-commenters in that category. Those readers who will, once they've found you, usually read through your entire back catalogue and comment on pretty much everything in the Lesbian Sex category (and stuff in other categories with a significant Lesbian Sex aspect). Readers like @toesucker1 @Migbird @BristolGrad @Aquariusgirl @galadriel_fan @UncertainT @FranziskaSissy @NoLongerAnon @metroalma @Bluesea00 @stillnoname @xtrail (I appreciate you peeps so much!) and, er, me!

So, what's my point? My point is that writing in a single category, you are more likely to attract the attention of those single-category mega-commenters and thus get more comments. This may well be true with other categories too (I wouldn't know).

However, as I said before:

Thanks for the shout out. I'm going to pay it forward by recommending @Kumquatqueen 's story Meaningless Kisses (https://www.literotica.com/s/meaningless-kisses) which is ny favourite lesbian story in terms of 'Oh my God! My characters need to trying that as well, right now'

Yes, not just in terms of lesbian, but more generally writing around all the categories probably doesnt help me much. I hadnt realized there was a secret cabal of commenters I was missing out on, but I suspect I miss building a solid following as if someone likes something in one category I've not always got a follow up for them in the same genre.

@onehitwanda I'm ready to put your software to the test. I'd like to recommend one of my own. 2025 is the year of normalizing liking your own stuff.

I think Out is the best damn thing I've ever written. I think it stands up against anything. If 53k words seems like a bit much for you, then I have great news! I got Out recorded as an audiobook by an amazing voice actor! It's a hair under 5 and a half hours at 1x speed, perfect for staring blankly into space while you try to wrap your head around its mysteries!

I can wholeheartedly recommend this (I have about half an hour left on the recording and can't wait to finish it, but I did finally have to go do the cleaning I was supposed to be doing while listening to it) and Bramblethorn's "A Stringed Instrument".

I need to read more LS stories as most of the ones I've read are no longer on the site to recommend.

Good thread, although one might ask whether onehitwanda has too much time on her hands to be creating updated versions of such a busy and content-filled (but nice looking) like chart.

I'm working on a lesbian story that I hope to publish for the next Pink Orchid contest, so this will provide useful research material, this subject being, to put it charitably, not in my wheelhouse.

I'm getting to this thread late. Not sure if they were mentioned here, but does anyone remember Spacefirefly? They had two beautiful stories: Firestorm and Whirlwind, I believe they were called.

I can no longer find their username on here. For a while their author page was still up, but the stories were pulled. I believe it was because they were being stolen and published elsewhere...still, they were great stories and I miss them.

Of course I'll add to the praise that has already been heaped on the following authors:
@onehitwanda - Just...everything.
@JCMcNeilly - The stories are always a beautiful journey

There are many more of course.

I just finished reading Hearts Like Ours Pt. 1, based on @onehitwanda's recommendation earlier in this thread...and now I'm mad at myself for not paying more attention to the context Wanda left, noting that the story is not finished. I'm hoping @SugarStorm publishes the sequel soon, so I can get rid of this hollow feeling in my chest.
