Sorry to come back to this when the thread has moved on, but...
I remembered what my second thing was!
You mentioned "path to success" and there's loads of ways that can be interpreted. I've talked about top lists. But the other thing it seems all writers here crave are comments.
Now, I was just recommending The Almost Perfect series by @TheRedChamber to you. I think it's great, even though the second story involves stuff I'm not much into usually, but the writing is so good I'm hooked into the characters enough to get past that. However, it doesn't have many comments: certainly not as many as I feel it merits.
One of the reasons for that might be that TheRedChamber doesn't publish enough in the Lesbian sex category to have attracted the attention of the mega-commenters in that category. Those readers who will, once they've found you, usually read through your entire back catalogue and comment on pretty much everything in the Lesbian Sex category (and stuff in other categories with a significant Lesbian Sex aspect). Readers like @toesucker1 @Migbird @BristolGrad @Aquariusgirl @galadriel_fan @UncertainT @FranziskaSissy @NoLongerAnon @metroalma @Bluesea00 @stillnoname @xtrail (I appreciate you peeps so much!) and, er, me!
So, what's my point? My point is that writing in a single category, you are more likely to attract the attention of those single-category mega-commenters and thus get more comments. This may well be true with other categories too (I wouldn't know).
However, as I said before:
So well put. I may have to borrow this as a warning label at the top of some of my stories. We can sometimes only really cherish the light when we have been intimate with darkness.
Oh no you didn't...
Thank you, I can [occasionally] write a little. And please feel free to use. I’d take it as a compliment. So well put. I may have to borrow this as a warning label at the top of some of my stories.
This misses me and Bramble recommending each other
But that's like the proton streams intersecting in ghostbusters - just too dangerousThis misses me and Bramble recommending each other
He's a cat. It's all malicious in intent. This is how I always imagine him:@StillStunned needs to read more. He looks lonely playing with himself like that.
In a discussion about lesbian porn I'd feel weird playing with anyone else.@StillStunned needs to read more. He looks lonely playing with himself like that.
I've never mentioned it here, but I speak like Antonio Banderas too. He's a cat. It's all malicious in intent. This is how I always imagine him:

i.e. it's a trap.
You get a free pass. That man's accent is to die for. Also, he can sing!In a discussion about lesbian porn I'd feel weird playing with anyone else.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this (I have about half an hour left on the recording and can't wait to finish it, but I did finally have to go do the cleaning I was supposed to be doing while listening to it) and Bramblethorn's "A Stringed Instrument".@onehitwanda I'm ready to put your software to the test. I'd like to recommend one of my own. 2025 is the year of normalizing liking your own stuff.
I think Out is the best damn thing I've ever written. I think it stands up against anything. If 53k words seems like a bit much for you, then I have great news! I got Out recorded as an audiobook by an amazing voice actor! It's a hair under 5 and a half hours at 1x speed, perfect for staring blankly into space while you try to wrap your head around its mysteries!
One of my most guilty pleasures.A Stringed Instrument
I didn’t recommend myself. I just shared a story with @Kumquatqueen that met a criteria she laid out. I actually said the story wasn’t art.

What is art though? While it may be true that Once Upon A Time... A Fantasy doesn't have the same drama as many stories recommended here, it's still an excellent story, just very playful.I didn’t recommend myself. Thanks - playful is what it was meant to be.What is art though? While it may be true that Once Upon A Time... A Fantasy doesn't have the same drama as many stories recommended here, it's still an excellent story, just very playful.
Thanks for reminding me that I'm on an island by myself
It’s been in the publishing queue for about a week now. So honestly, I’m just waiting along with everyone elseI'm hoping @SugarStorm publishes the sequel soon, so I can get rid of this hollow feeling in my chest.
Wonderful to hear! I will catch up on the rest of your stories in the meantime. It’s been in the publishing queue for about a week now. So honestly, I’m just waiting along with everyone else![]()
Just noticed two things.
