Hello AH Community,

I'm posting this thread to officially kick of the "Tainted Love: Romantic Horror" Event on Literotica for 2026.

What happens when you love someone you know you shouldn’t?

This is a one off event with the theme of "Tainted Love - Romantic Horror" set around music, emotion, and storytelling.

The intent of this Story Event is to have authors find the beat that lies within a story as it’s being told. The rise of the chorus through the emotional swell of the bridge and the fall of the outro, and to do it to a single song with many covers and variations available to choose from. "Tainted Love" has been around since the 1960s and was originally composed by Ed Cobb and recorded by Gloria Jones, though the most well-known version is Soft Cell’s cover in the 1980s. Since then there have been many variations of the song, each with its own emotional beat within the music and the artist’s tone while singing.

The lyrics lend themselves well to both a romantic and horror theme of a “love” that maybe shouldn’t be but is (to some degree at least). And what better way to dive into the emotional side of erotica than to hit on the controversial topic of what happens when you love someone you know you shouldn’t? While the horror side can be an exploration of what horror is to that individual writer. It could be anything from a stalker with a one-sided obsession to a really bad anal experience that didn't detract from the character's love of anal.

The author chooses their version of the song to get the right beat going, and then they write the romantic horror story that calls to them.

This theme lends itself well to many categories here as the type of horror and the type of love depicted can be just as varied as the covers available for the song

This thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter their stories in this 2026 Story Event. If you have any questions, post them here, and someone will answer. It might be me, @Erozetta or it might be someone else, but don’t be shy. Ask. There’s no such thing as a dumb question.

If you’re a first time writer, or this is the first time you’re thinking about doing a story for an “Event” or a Competition on Literotica, hey, don’t be stressed about it. We’ve all been there, and a “story event” like this is a great way to test the waters without getting into the competitiveness of a writing competition. This is NOT a competition, it's an event, an open invitation to everyone, from the complete novice to the writers that have been here since the dawn of Literotica and really, if you need any encouragement - you have to start somewhere, so if you're still hesitating, just do it. You'll find plenty of encouragement - we all started somewhere and what better place to get started than a non-competitive writing event with a common theme to inspire you.

Also, there no scores, no placing, no judging, and no prizes. This is just writing for fun with a bunch of other people doing the same thing. If you’re not sure about what to do, how to submit your story, or anything at all, just ask here. We’ve all been there, we’re a bunch of very helpful people, and we like to pass it on.

So without further ado, are you interested in writing for the 2026 “Tainted Love - Romantic Horror” Story Event? If you are, get started! You've got 5 months to get something done! First time writers and veteran Literoticans alike are invited and encouraged to participate. You’ll be in good company

Submission deadline: March 1st-16th (stories submitted and posted)
Event date: final anthology list posted on Tuesday March 17th 2026

The rules are really simple
1. Stay more or less with the theme but feel free to interpret it creatively.
2. You can write in any category and any length, as long as you keep in mind Rule #1
3. Please include “Tainted Love 2026” in the notes field. Please use this exact wording so Laurel can identify the entries.
4. Please use “Tainted Love” as a story tag. You can also use "Romantic Horror" as a further story tag if you wish.
5. You can submit anytime from 1st March 2026 on, but all entries need to be submitted by 11:59pm, Monday 16 March, 2026.
6. All stories will Go Live on Literotica on Tuesday March 17th 2026 (or maybe sooner if Laurel wants to spread them out....)

So what are you waiting for? Next year? Get started now! Every single one of these Literotica story events has been a lot of fun for all of us who wrote stories for them, and there's been quite a range of events and stories!

It's gonna be fun and interpretation is wide open on both the romantic and horror side of things.

we thought it would be fun for everyone to include the version of the song they wrote their story to here.

I already have a story written to this theme, but I'm going to write another. My first was written to this version:
