I’ve never Ice fished. Would love to do it, but…and that’s a big BUT…I want to do it as long as I can do it with one of those shacks with a heater and beer and satellite dishMy nephew loves to fish and he also ice fishes....brrrrrr
Does this article help at all? Thanks MissK! Well, the verdict is in. Not going to be an easy job. Can’t use 3in1, nor WD…have to get some fancy Earl from Europe. Probably cost me an arm and a leg just to put a pin drop in?.
No…
We’re gonna find a work around…
Yeah but dont worry the black cloud of doom is stull there. The check engine light came on in the jeepLove that! Happy for You…
You need your own space too.
No sir. These engines are made for heavy, unstoppable usage, hence, they put maintenance and repair into their design. So they are gonna literally swap out a new engine??
We did that on tanks. (I never did I’ve seen it done). Assume the motor isn’t junk but it’s gotta be refurbished and rebuilt.
Wait - I had this once... sometimes it's on a timer for things like oil changes, which are recommended at standard intervals.Yeah but dont worry the black cloud of doom is stull there. The check engine light came on in the jeep
I think your "big chain" automotive parts stores will check it at no charge....Yeah but dont worry the black cloud of doom is stull there. The check engine light came on in the jeep

Love it!! Most of punk is attitude... but those popping pink threads won't hurt either.I'm not sure anyone would call me punk! Perhaps I might be able to pull off punk granny!![]()
Not a universal tool but has its uses IMO.I've heard things like that expressed as "fake it til you make it."
Where I've seen it work best has been to counteract Imposter Syndrome... where you have all the credentials and knowledge but your brain lies and tells you that you're a fraud. It is a valid tactic at times. I remember doing just this when I first started teaching university. My mentor reminded me I knew more than the students. I wasn't always so sure.
And your very own anthem!!
Punk grandma…
I do the same thing - every time I come back from vacation. I read the older emails at work first... you'd think I'd learn, right?I jumped the gun. Again!![]()

Glad you are finding good info and more easily available productsNot all is lost! I was reading in that thread, and one of the long time ClockMeisters (official term) said take some 5w20 (he was very specific about this weight?) and use that. Amazing machines. And the size?? Just wowNo sir. These engines are made for heavy, unstoppable usage, hence, they put maintenance and repair into their design.
The "Power Pack" consists of a piston, liner (cylinder wall), head, injector, associated O-rings etc... They can be replaced individually as a single unit.
I've been told that if I had to, I could pull the lower inspection cover from one, remove the connecting rod and piston from a cylinder, fire it back up and keep on running her, though I've never had to.
I love those two stores!!! Always amazed at how much they will do without charge!!I think your "big chain" automotive parts stores will check it at no charge....

Old Time Chimes: Best Oil for Grandfather Clocks and Application Tips
The Deleware Canal is supposed to be good fising. All I ever caught was turtles! We had a great trip yesterday. Started off in Port Jervis NY. Wound our way up the upper Delaware River which was beautiful. Stumbled upon Robelings Viaduct… a bridge carrying water over the Delaware River. Kinda cool - they used it for the old canals.
Then found this great town called Narrowsville NY, where we crossed and hit Route 6 into Scranton. Really pretty country.
We went to steam town and so all of the old school train engines. It was pretty cool. Today I shall be going to the Dunder-Mifflin Paper company.
Scranton is really a pretty nice city.

I’ve decided to get one of these oils and do a deep dive on how to tear down the clock and do a total deep cleaning. Been studying up on vids off the Oracle of all Knowledge today. Pivot holes and new bushings for them may be in order.
The clock is between 30-50 yrs old. I inherited it from an Aunt and I seem to remember it in their house in VA when I was a kid. I know when they moved back down south it was in every house they had…my eccentric aunt would insist on moving every 3-5 yrs.
I’m going to remove the face plate as MissK’s article talks about both side of the movement need to be oiled. If I’m going to do this, may as well do it right!
I have posted on this forum before how SWMBO tried to kill my clock! I’ll have to post that story at a later date…in case all this really does kill my clock!![]()
My father loved Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. Especially this scene.
That’s a good idea! I was going to line pieces parts up and go in reverse, but I like your idea better. I did look into a pro at a clock shop that used to exist downtown. Sadly, It doesn’t look like it survived the lockdowns.for the clock
Only advice I have - take a clear photo of every layer as you go... just in case you need to see how everything was put together before you pulled it all apart.
Hope it goes well!!
My mentor in aviation maintenance built two Grandfather Clocks. He ordered the clock mechanisms from Germany, but built the cabinets from various different exotic woods, with beautiful scarf splices, etc... in excess of 240 pieces of wood in each. That man could do ANYTHING with his hands. That’s a good idea! I was going to line pieces parts up and go in reverse, but I like your idea better. I've never seen him, so obs can't comment on his looks but -He was! I watched a video of a "fly-in" that he hosted for the old Cessna, Bamboo Bombers (pretty rare aircraft)...
The women were swooning over that little Italian man, practically eating from his hands!
...and yes, I definitely commented on that!
On a 1-10 scale, I use the half and half formula (attitude and appearance)I've never seen him, so obs can't comment on his looks but -
ETA: Personally, I find handy and smart far more attractive than looks.Personality over Packaging
