The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

We had a great trip yesterday. Started off in Port Jervis NY. Wound our way up the upper Delaware River which was beautiful. Stumbled upon Robelings Viaduct… a bridge carrying water over the Delaware River. Kinda cool - they used it for the old canals.

Then found this great town called Narrowsville NY, where we crossed and hit Route 6 into Scranton. Really pretty country.

We went to steam town and so all of the old school train engines. It was pretty cool. Today I shall be going to the Dunder-Mifflin Paper company. 😂

Scranton is really a pretty nice city.

@Boat1 this is what put all of those steam engines out of business.

They had one at the steam engine museum.

EXCELLENT PICS!
That's identical to what I'm running on my boat.
See the upper row of big, round "inspection covers?"....
Those are what I pulled last night to find that my #12 cyl needs a Power Pack replaced.... They access your "airboxes" which are stuffed with pressurized air, by those massive Roots Blowers at the upper rear of the engine, feeding the 2-stroke beasts....
Thanks for the pics!

It is a valid tactic at times. I remember doing just this when I first started teaching university. My mentor reminded me I knew more than the students. I wasn't always so sure.
I have to agree. No one knows everything and I’ve done a lot of things for he first time and made mistakes.

That’s how ya learn.

Sometimes ya just gotta try doing something.

So they are gonna literally swap out a new engine??

We did that on tanks. (I never did I’ve seen it done). Assume the motor isn’t junk but it’s gotta be refurbished and rebuilt.

If the clock works with a pin tip, that's all you need. You can always add more. It's hard to take it away.
Rodico can help take some away. You can find how to use this online, but basically tear off a small blob and shape it to touch the part with too much oil. (Or fingerprints, or dirt, etc.). Probably don't need to be that fussy with an old clock. But it's not hard to do a nice neat job.

Not all is lost! I was reading in that thread, and one of the long time ClockMeisters (official term🤷🏻‍♂️) said take some 5w20 (he was very specific about this weight?) and use that. Well I got that laying around in spades! Now just to tear down this sucker to get to the guts….
Not sure 5W20 is the best thing. Most modern oils have detergents in them, those can wreak havoc. For most things I use a non-detergent high quality oil. Stay away from 3-in-1, and WD-40 (which you figured out already).

I use Mobile velocite #10 in most things. Can't find a small bottle of #10, but it looks like amazon has #6 in a 30ml bottle.

Awesome! Thanks for that gouge. I’m half joking but didn’t want to wait on some special oil from Switzerland that’d take a week to get here. Clock is hold for a few days, as more medical BS came up. I appreciate the link!
