he was on a conservative college campus in a conservative city in a conservative state while telling the kids at that college that they were idiots for going to college.That answer is chilling, not just because of the cruelty toward a man’s death, but because it reveals how deeply some young people have been conditioned to dehumanize those they disagree with. When institutions of higher learning stop cultivating critical thought and instead reward ideological conformity, they don’t produce free thinkers, they produce zealots. To hear someone speak of a fellow American’s murder as "necessary" is not just indecent, it’s dangerous. History shows us, whether in 1930s Germany or in other totalitarian movements, that once people are trained to cheer the silencing, and even the killing, of political opponents, liberty itself is on the chopping block.
