I never had shingles or various other conditions. I never thought of poison ivy because I remembered "green leaves with red spots" from decades ago. I did not find any current reference to that pattern on poison ivy. Now it's all green or mostly red. I bought kitchen gloves to wear inside yard gloves.

My reaction to poison ivy has lessened and lessened over the years.
When it was really bad, my treatment method was very harsh, but effective.

I'd pierce the "blisters" with a needle, dab straight down with a paper towel, followed by pouring straight, automotive lacquer thinner over it.
That dried it up in no time.
