Great point, let’s do that. Parents should get to choose the best speed to drive their kids in a school zone. If the kids in the other cars are all going the speed limit or under they should be fine, right?
 
Transing minors is actively harmful. It's Munchausen by proxy. Over 90% of them grow out of the phase, and now you've done irreversiable surgeries and given them dangerous hormones that will affect their bodies for the rest of their lives.

Furthermore, parents are usually bullied into consenting with lies like "Would you rather have a dead son or a live daughter?"

You're conflating very different things, as your party usually does.

Cool stats bro. 80% of people make up stats to suit their argument. Did you know minors experiencing gender dysphoria require a year or more of weekly therapy before any kind of treatment is offered?

The Wall Street Journal is notorious for its right-wing editorials that have no basis in fact. That particular statistic is very popular among people like you, but it's drawn from a single, deeply flawed study. I understand the distinction just fine (although I disagree with it). That's irrelevant to the point at hand here, which is that you citing a statistic from the WSJ editorial page with no context doesn't mean a damn thing.
 
For anyone who is wondering - and who cares about the truth - the source of that statistic SkyBubble keeps puking up is a 1995 study by Kenneth Zucker and Susan Bradley, which involved 45 gender-nonconforming children. What he is ignoring (probably because he didn't understand it in the first place) is that "gender-nonconforming" and "trans" are two different things, though they do have some overlap. Zucker and Bradley do not appear to have understood that either. The children in question included boys who liked ballet and painting their nails, girls who liked football and hated wearing dresses, etc. There are, of course, a LOT of children like that in every generation, and the great majority of them aren't trans, they're simply children with interests that don't fit in their gender's traditional profiles.

Zucker and Bradley revisited their subjects several years later when they were in high school, and found that 80% of their subjects were not trans. But they didn't "become non-trans"; they never were trans in the first place.

In other words, they just assumed anyone whose personality didn't fit in a neat little box could be trans, and it just isn't that simple. I'm living proof. I'm a cis-male who loves romantic movies and doesn't remember who won the last Super Bowl. Back in kindergarten, I hated that nursery rhyme about boys being made of "snakes and snails and puppy dogs' tails" while girls were "sugar and spice and everything nice". It's entirely possible that I wished I were a girl at that moment (little did I know plenty of girls hated that poem too!) Later on in high school, I had to put up with a lot of rude comments from my teachers because I was quiet and shy, and I envied the girls who were the same way since they never seemed to get criticized for it. But I never questioned my gender identity. They are two different things.
