Story format for publishing help

Can somebody point me in the right direction?
Best to use no formatting at all. Let the site take care of it for you. No indenting, no line spacing, no margins, no nothing. Well, you do need to properly format your dialog, but that is a standard format that you can easily look up if you don't already know it. Other than that, just write out your story, with one ENTER after each paragraph.

I always copy from my word processor into Microsoft Notepad to make sure no stray formatting is still there. Then I copy and paste that directly into the story entry form.

Good luck!

To add to this, write in shorter paragraphs (the enters mentioned). With mobile devices like phones or pads, but even small laptops being popular these days, it is important to cater to these people. Not only does chunking it into tiny paragraphs make it easier to read on small screens, it is also fitting with how we consume media today.

I cut and pasted as well. The story was rejected because I used quotations or something like that. I’m too stupid to figure it out.

This is a really great story idea!

The trials and tribulations of a writer trying to format his story. Wow.

The thought is just so erotic: cutting and pasting, "using quotations or something like that" and being rejected. Oh yes - and deciding on size of paragraphs, whether to use margins, copying onto Notepad. The dynamic is endless.

Really, the stuff of wild, delirious fantasy.

So, so erotic. I'll use the idea for sure in my next tale and have my readers masturbating to it like fury.

Please don't leave us out of any future story ideas like this which you have. Do come to this board and post them.

I'm be happy to help you, but apparently the Junior Moderators are getting their panties in a tizzy. Send me a PM with an example and I'll see what needs to change.

Despite some unfortunate replies from people who never struggled themselves, there are lots of people here willing to help.

You did not understand this when you posted, but you need to provide more information about your issue. Had you started by mentioning the quotes to start it would have helped. There were too many possible interpretations for your original question to actually be helpfu

I know this was not a pleasant introduction to the community, but don’t give up.

Just thought there might have been a “how to” that I missed. I’m good.

One joker (who is not even a regular) does not make for a shitty community.

The OP wasn't particularly enlightening about their problem, to be fair.

I write in Word, indenting the first line of each paragraph with 1.5 spacing between lines and double spacing between paragraphs. It makes editing are re-reading easier for me as I’m working on the story.

Once a story is published(I upload the Word doc and have never had an issue), the site overwrites all that only maintaining the paragraph spacing.

BYW, shorter paragraphs are much easier to read, both in Word and on the site.
