Hi all!

Does someone here happen to know how publishing the foreign language stories goes on Literotica? If Laurel reads every story, does she auto-translate the non-English ones? Or are there some volunteers doing this?

At the moment I’m irritated of my latest story pending now for 19 days… but I understand there are some problems on this for others too. I’m just interested of understanding reasons for this pending block - maybe my language (Finnish) is the problem, maybe there’s some seasonality, maybe there’s lack of volunteers or something.

Thanks in advance ❤️

Write in English like the rest of us Finns 😁

Siis, mitä ihmettä? Voiko täällä julkaista suomeksi? Ei oo tullut ees mieleen yrittää. Menenkin heti vakoilemaan sun profiilista että mitä mitä.

You can publish in any language but your readership will be a tiny, tiny, tiny fraction of what it would be in English.

Yeah, I figured as much. But dayum, I could publish in my own language. I would be so good in my own language. I’m tempted.

Ja @Dancefactory, kirjoita suomenkielinen tarina mun eventtiin, jooko? Jos yhtään nappaa aihepiiri (ja sun otsikoita vilkaisten voisi vaikka napatakin). Viime vuonna oli yks saksankielinen, mutta olispa hienoa saada yksi suomenkielinenkin. Kyse on siis tästä: Pink Orchid

I thought it was just for big languages.
Assuming those few samples you provided are representative, and I have no reason to suspect they aren’t, the average word length in Finnish indicates it’s actually one of the biggest languages :giggle:

Oh, that’s because we don’t have all the little words like from, to, on, etc. Instead, we have suffixes. We also love our compound words.

The thing I most appreciate about Finnish is that we don’t have gendered anything, not even pronouns, let alone words.

There's probably nothing quite as effective as an Arctic winter for showing you that language doesn't need that kind of unnecessary clutter.

Chained suffixes and no less than fifteen noun cases, if Wikipedia is to be believed  It's certainly one way of doing things, but it sure does feel weird to think about movement to and fro, or being on top of something, as a distinct grammatical case in each, well, case.

Hän ei peitellyt ymmärtämättömyyttään = He/she/they didn’t hide his/her/their lack of ability to understand

😁

It’s the best language. Everything in the world would improve if everyone spoke Finnish. I have no proof, but it’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Just reading your post I already feel smarter, happier, healthier.

Do you know if there’s others who publish in Finnish, @Dancefactory ? Or are you the best and only? I’m having ideas.
Sounds good! All that I have found (and boy have I searched) are in my ”Following” list, also the ones I assume are Finns even though they write in English (like you 😃).

Finnish is on ”other” languages in Literotica. It could be a separate one, but with so small amount of writers I’m not sure if there’s much of benefits. Well, finding stories could be easier. I would happily translate something for web page UI if that would happen 😊

Olisi kyllä mahtavaa, jos suomenkieliset kirjoittajat lisääntyisivät täällä. Ehkä tätä pitäisi mainostaa jotenkin, levittää sanaa. Suomessa on paljon pöytälaatikkokirjailijoita, ne voisi houkutella tänne 😊

Aivan ihana aihe, todellakin!! Aikaakin on hyvin vielä. Multa on vähän mennyt nämä eventit ohi, kun oon ajatellut, että pitäisi väsätä jotain enkuksi.
