I will NEVER live nor own tangible assets in a blue city

The main characteristic of real estate in US cities is that its value has appreciated enormously over the last 20 years.

Obviously you want to avoid those gains, stable genius. 😆
True. Those of us who bought homes in California metro areas 20-30 years ago have done well. Our property taxes have been protected by Prop 13, our mortgages are paid off, and we don’t need to sell our houses to finance our retirement lifestyle. We can hold our assets and pass them on to our kids, tax free.

On the other hand, if you’re a first time home buyer, and you buy a house in a major metropolitan area, you really should be staying away from the city limits of major cities. Unless of course you want to pay endless add on parcel taxes, watch zoning laws allow your neighbors to convert their property to multi family housing projects, find out you can’t replace your gas appliances, and be subject to a myriad of other things that undermine the suburban lifestyle you dreamed of.

It broke you. Don't put words in their mouths. I bet you live in a State with worse education scores too.
My grandkids are getting a much better education in the state we live in than they could ever get in CA. Do you live in CA? Do you pay taxes there? Own property there? Do you have kids in school there? If not, STFU. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Nice dodge. Thank you for confirming I was right 😄

All professional political leaders are corrupt, but it's like democrats get high on being mentally retarded. Blue cities are shit, holes with sky-high taxes and crime that's typically out of control. At least with Red states, we don't pay taxes on intangibles & ZERO state income taxes. Those in government are junkies totally addicted to spending
Stay in school and maybe some day you'll be able to afford to.

Today's "blue" city could be tomorrow's purple city.

Today's "red" city could be tomorrow's purple city.

The more people flee one area, for another, the more a mixing of ideas happens.

AI is coming for your "education jobs". Can you change a spark plug? They can in West Virginia. :)
As a matter of fact, I can. 'Bray' comes from Bray Hill, the first section of the Isle of Man TT course, I spent my formative years working on motorbikes.

Totally Fact Free BabyBoom. 100% bluster.

The defining characteristic of real estate in cities over the last 20 years is enormous price appreciation.

He also thinks that everyone dreams of a “suburban lifestyle” even though demand for downtown urban real estate has caused the value of it to skyrocket in every city.

only the lazy & inept rely on government
You may want to check some of those state budgets. Plenty of "red states" receive way more funding from the federal govt than what they (their taxpayers) contribute.
Very easy to say look at those blue states with high taxes..typically those high taxes are because blue states pay their teachers and police a lot more than the typical red state. Blue state pensions are a big cause of high state income tax because they take care of those who put the time in.

Have you ever even been to West Virginia, or just spouting stereotypes? :)

You know she hasn't. If she had she'd know that West Virginians can't change spark plugs. Which is why they can't get jobs in either the coal mines or with the Railroad.

Enormous real estate price appreciation is also a defining characteristic in suburban enclaves surrounding big cities. If you work in the Bay Area, you don’t have to buy a home in San Jose (the biggest Bay Area city), San Francisco, or Oakland. Bedroom cities like Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Los Gatos, Saratoga and Los Altos in the South Bay, or Menlo Park, San Carlos, and Redwood City on the Peninsula, or cities like Pleasanton, Dublin and Lafayette in the East Bay are far less plagued by the urban problems and higher taxes found in major cities.

Obviously lots of people like renting apartments or buying condos in densely populated urban cores. If that’s your preference, go for it. But if you want to buy a single family house, bedroom cities offer less government intrusion, less homelessness, less crime, and fewer parcel taxes.

Those damned locomotives chew through spark plugs at an unconscionable rate.

Well, they wouldn't if W. Va mechanics could learn how to change 'em properly. In the dark. At the bottom of a coal mine.

Mad skilz. You either have 'em or you don't.

You really can't do shit unless you can do it in the dark, upside down, and backwards.

It's more fun if you have to peel the flesh off your arm to be able to reach what you're working on.

Red States and Blue States - Sales Taxes - Not too different
Red states have governments, the last I heard, so they have junkies addicted to spending also by your notion.
  • California 8.98%
  • Texas 8.25%
  • NY 8.53%
  • AZ 8.41%
Some states, like Texas, don't have a state income tax but make up for it by having some of the highest property taxes in the nation. Go figure. All that oil and still taxing property to the hilt.

Seems you have some bias showing without substantiation. 🤷‍♂️

Don't forget about the red hot pipe that's blocking the only way you can squeeze your arm in there. I swear engineers plan that shit on purpose.

It's their petty vengeance they take out on their scientific buddies.

I saw one once where it would have been easier to pull the engine to change the water pump.

That's coal-hearted, bubba. Many an 'antique' car is running in those mountains, and they have spark plugs aplenty.

Besides, coal mining equipment doesn't use spark plugs, nor trains for that matter. There's too much danger from methane and the risk of coal dust explosions; they use diesel or electric equipment for deep mining. [Diesel uses glow plugs if you didn't know, and the fuel is less flammable than gasoline.]

Sounds like a Rolls with the W-12. You literally have to drop the entire engine/trans cradle to change the trans cooler lines.

help me understand, how can you post something as retarded as that? Are you high on paint fumes?
Because it’s true? Look up how states rank for education, child care, obesity, infant mortality rates, etc.. the vast majority of the bottom half are red states. Then look at average wage, higher education and livability. Again red states literally the bottom half. Go further and look at the states that receive the most federal funding and… you guessed it. Red states. He told no lies but you refuse to believe it because you’re stupid or willfully ignorant. Don’t know you so not sure which one. Red states absolutely suck ass.

This was a Toyota. You don't pull the engine, you pull the body. I'm not sure it would come out the top. I know that lotsa car assembly lines (maybe all - I cunt be arsed to look) drop the bodies on the engine/chassis assembly, but this one was pretty ridiculous. Talk about peeling flesh you might otherwise want to stay attached . . . .
