That first rife at the top of the picture looks similar to the M1 carbine used in World War 2. (A weapon of war.)

It fires .30 caliber bullet as opposed to the .223 (smaller) caliber of the rifle on the bottom. The M2 carbine which is similar to the M1 and fires the same bullet has a select fire option and 30-round mag capacity. So, it also qualifies as an "assault rifle", and it looks very similar to the one on top in the pic.

Frankly, if wackos in the cities want to do their mass shootings, they'd be smarter to use the M2 carbine, because it's designed for close quarters shooting, has less recoil, and its lighter weight than the M16 or other scary-looking assault rifles. But they're wackos, and they don't make good decisions.

So, if you ban that scary-looking rifle, you'll force the crazies to use the better choice weapon. (Shows how smart you are NOT!)
