I was just reading about this too. Conveniently the girls were permitted to wear swimsuits of basic quality without colors that would get into the pool.

Although, if the guys knew the girls were swimming naked nobody would ever be in class they would all be trying to sneak a peek.

I always thought it was stupid to have special clothes to swim in. I would be totally embarrassed if I had to swim nude as a rule, but logically it only makes sense.

All swimming should be in the nude if we wanted to be logical, but can you imagine going to a public pool (I can’t imagine doing that now) or a beach, lake, river and everyone there is naked? I can’t.

I know nothing of swim teams. My school (thankfully) couldn’t afford a pool. Sometimes the parking lot would flood though.

You can tell who is American on this page! They are so prudish! In Germany (and many European countries), nude swimming pools are quite common. Most countries (including USA) have nude beaches.
The Olympics in ancient Greece required athletes to compete naked (so I have been told, not having been there).
