PENDING- STILL STUCK

I originally published a story on June 25th. After a week, I figured maybe the delay was because site managers were busy with the Nude contest.

I took it down and reposted on July 4th ... knowing it would go to the end of the queue ... but also assuming it's because there must have been an issue with the first submission.

Yet, here we are.

It's still in pending with no notes and no response to the 5 or 6 messages I've sent to Support.

I guess I'll just leave it as is but how discouraging.,,. 😟

Does everything need approval? i can see new users needing it until they have a little repertoire but i don't think they'd do it for people posting a lot of content that's good after they've been submitting for weeks or years.

Everything gets screened. Long time authors still get screened, but it's often a lot quicker. For example, I had a short piece go live in 36 hours or so (it was posted in Non-erotic), and my last piece was processed in a similar timeframe - but the release was delayed a couple of days, presumably to spread out the category load.

Don't assume that. Instead, picture a slow conveyor belt moving steady along with no eyes on your content until it gets to a certain point. Nothing is "wrong" until you get a rejection notice.

Your clock is from the 4th July, not the 25th June.

If it's still Pending, it's not been looked at yet.

Nothing going to Support gets action, so far as I'm aware. I suggest you send a polite PM to Laurel using the envelope top right of this page.

Patience is always the best counsel.

Fun fun. My avatar image took 24-36 hours to go up. I can see there being a lot more considerations than there used to be when the site first went up... damn... 25+ years ago? (i remember reading stories back in 2000)

Anyways, interesting to know. I'll probably just lurk on the forums for a while before i consider putting anything up.

I submitted my first story on May 24th and that same day a moderator sent me feedback telling me that I needed to change the name of the story. On May 26 I did that and resubmitted it.

It sat in pending for weeks. It was resubmitted several times but for many weeks all I have seen is a 404 message, "This work is not available," and cannot see my submission at all.

I have sent two requests to the mods for technical assistance and have received no reply from either. It's a very discouraging situation. I've been active on boards and forums since the Unix dialup days, and have never run into such technical FUBARs on a major site.

The first one having a 404 as it's removed would make sense. But not accessing or seeing either one...

From purely a technical point of view, feels like your ticket/story got lost in a pile and they just haven't looked at it, or maybe it was large enough they felt they couldn't give it enough attention to properly mark it good or not. Or maybe they declined it and you never got notified.

From another point of view would be if there's a database or other problem. This is purely speculation though.

This does bring up the annoyances of recent sites though. Youtube, facebook and other sites that will flag content and then not give you a clear reason. I was banned off GoG and they didn't give me a reason. Closest thing i got was 'going off topic'. Meaning they probably just had it out for me. And Facebook banned me even though i was just reposting public information in the news i thought was noteworthy. (guess it's hard to scrape much data from me when i don't put anything personal up)

I'm not saying this is one of those cases. It's just my trust and benefit-of-the-doubt in moderators and sites have diminished a lot in the last 10 years, especially with activists involved.

I hope everything turns out okay. 🙏

I think moderators take it upon themselves to censor stories. If they don't like a story for whatever reason, even though it doesn't violate Literotica story guidelines, they bury it in pending. Forever. Your only choices are to try to guess what the moderator doesn't like about your story and change it or put it back in pending and hope you get a different moderator.

I had a story in pending for three weeks. It included something about the Charles and Diana that evidently the moderator didn't like. I took that part out and it was scheduled for publication within an hour.

I did another story that sat in pending for over a week. I took it out of pending, waited two days, put it back and about two hours later it was approved for publication.

Sending anything to support is completely worthless. Try to guess why the moderator doesn't like what you wrote and change the story or hope that you get a different moderator when you reissue it.

As a data point, I've had 4 submissions in "Pending" status, the oldest for several weeks, one was just published but not in order of submission. Seemingly plucked out of the middle of my list.

A story will only get rejected if there's a breach of the site's policies. There's no like or dislike of a story or a writer, it's what's been written that matters. Don't personalise the delay - it's one story amongst several hundred a day that get published. It's a process, it's not personalised.

To the best of our knowledge, Laurel is the only editor.

They're real people, so the scrutiny is even more intense. Clearly, the story didn't need whatever that subplot was.

Sometimes that does it, often it doesn't. It's not always simple cause and effect.

See above - one moderator. You might get her on a bad day, but you don't get anyone else.

Constantly trying to second guess anything without a rejection in front of you isn't the solution. If a story is still pending, it's highly likely it's not been looked at yet, not by human eyes, anyway. You're trying to second guess a conveyor belt slowly moving stories along.

I have a story that has been pending for a month now as well. It would be nice to at least have it rejected so I know if there's something that needs to be changed with it.
