Literotica stats and how they're useful

I can see the benefit that stats can offer if one wanted to really put some work into honing their writing to maximize the stats of a story. But that seems like a giant waste of time with minimal to no benefit to me.

For your own curiosity/interest, nothing wrong with collecting and tracking stats, but there's very little value beyond that to me. I've tried to force myself to write toward a specific goal and it is soul sucking, boring, and torturous in a bad way. I'll stick to winging it (hopefully with improved aspects as I go along) and seeing where the stats fall naturally as far as story elements.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't like my stats, but I'm also old enough to know that there's always a bigger fish and my time in the sun is a passing thing.
Would be delighted to play the common raven to your industrious magpie any day.
... I... um...

Tea. Tea, yes. Tea.

If Lit had a more robust option to interact with comments that I've received, I'd be more likely to utilize that since I am a corvid in human form and I like shiny things. šŸ¦ā€ā¬›

We seem to have a small corvid fan club here at Literotica. One of my favorites is the Clark's Nutcracker, which lives mostly in high mountain areas in the USA. The body is mostly a soft, downy gray and the wing and tail feathers are black and white. It's basically a jay with unique coloring. Maybe a little less querulous than the typical jay.

The thing about corvids is they may like shiny things but they won't hesitate to tell you if they think your story sucks.

Agreed. Attempting to Mr Beast-ify the Lit numbers seems soul crushing. But every platform has its Jimmy Donaldson, such is human nature.

Also, praise the cupcake!

Will have to look out for them next time I'm in that area of the country. I do love spotting feathered friends.

I'm probably an outlier in this since I don't really comment on stories I don't vibe with. If I don't have anything constructive or nice to day, I'll just move on in search of the next potentially shiny thing to add to my collection.

For my own edification I did download my stats just to see and was surprised at the reading list vs. favorites numbers, since reading lists aren't explicitly called out in your profile or on your control panel. Of course, there isn't any way to see these lists so it's just another number that doesn't really do anything for me, but I did find it curious.

I look at my stats infrequently, every couple of months or so. They don't really influence what I write or what I post. It's more like taking a look to see if the general direction of things has changed. I can't see doing it more than that. If I were attempting to be one of the top writers here or trying to get into a top story list or some such, I would. But I'm not interested in doing that. Don't get me wrong, I like a nice score on my stories, but I'm not into chasing them. I gots too many other things going on to concentrate most of my effort here.
