I recall reading in my high school U.S. history textbook, The American Pageant, a song dating from the Philippine-American War:

Damn, damn, damn the Filipinos
Cross-eyed kakiak ladrones
Underneath the starry flag
Civilize 'em with a krag [rifle]
And return us to our own beloved homes!

To the tune of a Civil War song, "The Prisoner's Hope."

Tuesday, 24 June 2025: Demonstrating the government's strong commitment and determination to ending the scourge of illegal drugs in the country, Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr., personally assessed the confiscated illegal substances during his visit to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) National Headquarters in Diliman, Quezon City.
