PM CHALLENGE - DAY FIVE

PM at least one Litster who has an artistic avatar - anything other other than a picture of themselves - and let them know why it keeps drawing your eyes.

1. Let's stretch our conversational muscles, eh? Either tell them why their avatar suits them or ask them why they decided on that piece of media for their AV.
2. Think about color, content, and association with the Litster themselves.
3. Once you PM your eye-catching Litster, come tell us why you chose your avatar! Then collect five prize tickets!

Reminders
* The main rules can be found here.

* This is all about being in the active role - doing, sending - not passive - getting, receiving.

Day 5 in the books!

My AV changes, with the season or my mood, but it's always me. There may come a day when it isn't, but for now I have to say that it feels weird to put someone or something else. I even took a vote a few months ago for what color I should wear, which is why my chonies are violet!

Today’s is complete!

I’ve changed my AV a few times. I stuck with the first for a while for a stupid reason before changing it to me. When my previous one got deleted because of the new pic posting rules (also stupid, as it was already censored 🤨) I decided to go with Rogue from X-Men. She’s my fave and I think it represents the true nerdiness of me 🤓

PM CHALLENGE - DAY SIX

PM at least one Litster - OR message someone in your life - who means a great deal to you and let them know how thankful you are to have them in your life.

1. A special and personal challenge for this one as today would have been my little sister's birthday and I think it's always good to remember how precious and fragile life is and to make an effort to leave nothing unsaid.

2. This is not meant to be a bummer in any way but an appreciation of the people who we love and are grateful to know.
3. We'll keep this one simple today. Just message your person and check in for THREE prize tickets. If you want to let us know a little about why you're thankful for your person, I'd very much love to read it.

Day 6.

Done. I've messaged 2 ex Litsters. These 2 are special to me. I speak to one of them every day. And have done since the day we first messaged.
The other one was someone who got me through some tough times. And I them. We no longer speak as much as we used to, but I know they are very much there for me. And I hope they know that I am there for them too.
I messaged some current ones too. I'm lucky to have good people in my life. And some annoying ones too, but I still like them.

Thank you PLP. Such an important reminder. I’m about to go and message at least one but there are definitely many. I joined lit at a really low point in my life and wish I could shout from the rooftops the role this person has played in turning my life around. Lit kept me sane during my darkest times and then became a bitter twisted little swamp of toxic mess for a bit and now, the heavens have parted and it looks like sun again. All this to say….

Thank you for the threads that you create, the conversations you provide, and the pure energy that you give. You are the good that is lit and therefore my thanks go to you too.

(I want to punch myself in the face right now, someone say something funny)

Don't think anyone would take it as a bummer @PrettyLilPussy19, although it was obviously tragic for you.

We all have our reasons for doing what we do in life, but I find that being able to use these shit situations and events to help someone else is cathartic, and allows that event to start to dominate us less.

You keep being you 😘

I've been so lucky that I've been able to meet and get to know some absolutely amazing humans on this quirky, pervy little site.

Through them I've learned a lot about myself. My confidence has improved (no, really) too.

I've sent messages to the ones who have seen me when my mental health is kicking my arse and have never judged or backed away. Ones I would be glad to meet in person and have in my life. Ones who's warmth and kindness shine brightly.
I'm thankful to them all 💜

I kind of cheated on day 5 - I got a couple of lovely messages from people about my avatar and I asked about theirs in return. And honestly, they were people whose avatars interested me, so if I had chosen, I might have chosen them anyway. My avatar is one that I found on Google to replace one I had before and lost - it was another woman with a whip, which I like because it symbolizes how I'm a little bit difficult to get to know (you have to get past the whip!) and also don't (or try not to) take any crap.

Day 6 is done - I messaged someone I was close to when I was here a few years ago and who I still value a lot. I think she makes Lit a much better place. I also want to write a message to a past Litster who sadly passed away before I could reconnect - it will be a bit of closure with him.

:) I do love the sentiment of this (the whole challenge, but especially today). Have sent something away from this site; even if people don’t, hopefully it gives a chance to appreciate those who have been there for you across whole sections of your life - and a chance to reorient yourself to prioritise and/or make time for those people where you can. I know I’ve been doing a lot more of that in recent months and years and am very grateful for it

Okilydokily ☺️ I have caught up, although I only sent one message to one unique individual per day.

This person was one of the first ones to reach out after my inquisitive return back to the boards. They helped remind me that I wasn’t still some naive AMPics poster who was afraid of her own shadow and words - that I should do whatever I wanted to do.

And clearly, I have been doing that ever since 😋

I could have messaged half a dozen other people who have been here for me, not just in the past six months but the past decade. Maybe I chose the easy way out by not extending that line again… but maybe it’s a sign of growth that I don’t need to push those boundaries anymore.

Anyway.

I can manage 1 a day… easy 😇
