We usually take whatever the host asks us to bring. My wife and her friends coordinate the shit out of events which makes it nice. You don’t end up with 7 potato salads for example.

A lot of times I bake a cake. People like my cakes so I’ve got that going for me.

Mine have all been responses today. It's been a busy morning.

But I always bring a dessert - nana pudding, pound cake, etc. - I'm a far better baker than cook. But I'm here for the potato salad and the mac n cheese.

Day 4 in the books. Lots of lemons, hot dogs, fish, and popcorn on the menu. Plus a couple others here and there.
As for my signature dish for a cookout... Seafood boil. Crab legs, lobster, shrimp, clams, potatoes, sausage, corn, and a shitton of Old Bay. I think I need to make that again soon.
