The Chosen People, a book review by Byron Roth

God’s Chosen People…. I love the humility in that!

Bwahaha!

Jewish Genius, by Charles Murray

Since its first issue in 1945, COMMENTARY has published hundreds of articles about Jews and Judaism. As one would expect, they cover just about every important aspect of the topic. But there is a lacuna, and not one involving some obscure bit of Judaica. COMMENTARY has never published a systematic discussion of one of the most obvious topics of all: the extravagant overrepresentation of Jews, relative to their numbers, in the top ranks of the arts, sciences, law, medicine, finance, entrepreneurship, and the media...

Why should one particular tribe at the time of Moses, living in the same environment as other nomadic and agricultural peoples of the Middle East, have already evolved elevated intelligence when the others did not?

At this point, I take sanctuary in my remaining hypothesis, uniquely parsimonious and happily irrefutable. The Jews are God’s chosen people.

According to the 1922 Bolshevik party census, there were 19,564 Jewish Bolsheviks, comprising 5.21% of the total, and in the 1920s of the 417 members of the Central Executive Committee, the party Central Committee, the Presidium of the Executive of the Soviets of the USSR and the Russian Republic, the People's Commissars, 6% were ethnic Jews.[17] Between 1936 and 1940, during the Great Purge, Yezhovshchina and after the rapprochement with Nazi Germany, Stalin had largely eliminated Jews from senior party, government, diplomatic, security and military positions.[18]

Exactly. Anyone connected to the AEI is a crank.

Charles Alan Murray (/ˈmɜːri/; born January 8, 1943) is an American political scientist. He is the W.H. Brady Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank in Washington, D.C.[1]

Murray's work is highly controversial.[2][3][4][5][6] His book Losing Ground: American Social Policy, 1950–1980 (1984) discussed the American welfare system. In the book The Bell Curve (1994), he and co-author Richard Herrnstein argue that in 20th-century American society, intelligence became a better predictor than parental socioeconomic status or education level of many individual outcomes, including income, job performance, pregnancy out of wedlock, and crime, and that social welfare programs and education efforts to improve social outcomes for the disadvantaged are largely counterproductive. The Bell Curve also argues that average intelligence quotient (IQ) differences between racial and ethnic groups are at least partly genetic in origin, a view that is now considered discredited by mainstream science.[7][8][9][10]

Mainstream science has not been able to close the race gap.

It is not a scientific problem. We all know what it takes. Many Third World countries have shown an increase in measured IQ by a full standard deviation since WWII -- and not because of any change in their gene pools. It is due to improvements in nutrition, health care, and early childhood education.

List several of those third world countries.

That approach does not even support the existence of race as a biological category.
In his essay "The Inequality Taboo" Charles Murray mentioned an experiment in which 3,636 subjects were asked to identify the race they belonged to. Then thy were asked to donate a tissue sample for DNA testing. The scientists testing the tissue samples did now know the races the doners of the samples claimed for themselves, but they agreed with the subjects 99.9% of the time. That experiment has been repeated several times with the same result.

Different population groups have different genetic characteristics. That does not make races actual breeds or subspecies.
