US Strikes Iran

Gotta love the octogenarian shit for brains pretending he knows what the fuck is going though the head of an even bigger dipshit.

Then they should be developing environmentally benign sources of energy, like we should be. I think they wanted a nuclear bomb to use against Israel, and I am glad Trump stopped them.
Every country has the right of self-determination insofar as energy policy goes. The United States should not dictate foreign energy policy. Israel should DEFINITELY not have one fucking thing to do with any other country's energy polcy.

Take France, for example. France has 18 relatively small cookie-cutter nuclear reactors, all of them built from the same blueprint, that produce 65% of France's energy needs. France is a relatively small country but it able to compete in the world arena because it is not subject to the vagaries of crude oil prices like the rest of Europe is.

When the FBI raided Mar-a-lago a couple of years back, one of the strangest most-highly-classified documents found onsite was a comprehensive CIA analysis of France's civilian nuclear program. It stood out because it was one of the only portfolios not dealing with weapons systems.

Speculation at the time was that Saudi strongman Bonesaw Ibn Saud wanted those French plans because he had his eye on the future, and nuclear power for internal Saudi use allowed more petroleum for export.

This prediction appears to have been proven by Trump's recent trip to the Middle East. He announced that any and all restriction on Saudi nuclear development was hereby withdrawn, that Saudi Arabia no longer had to recognize israel as a country and Trump added he hoped the Saudis would buy their newly permitted nuclear tech from American firms.

It is in the interest of the United States and Israel to prevent enemies of both from developing nuclear weapons.

A German intelligence report as far back as 2016 shortly after the signing of the JCPOA. The US has some culpability in Iran's nuclear ambition. We knew they were cheating and US politicians turned a blind eye:

"The Institute for Science and International Security has learned that Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) recently made an attempt to purchase tons of controlled carbon fiber from a country. This attempt occurred after Implementation Day of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The attempt to acquire carbon fiber was denied by the supplier and its government. Nonetheless, the AEOI had enough carbon fiber to replace existing advanced centrifuge rotors and had no need for additional quantities over the next several years, let alone for tons of carbon fiber. This attempt thus raises concerns over whether Iran intends to abide by its JCPOA commitments. In particular, Iran may seek to stockpile the carbon fiber so as to be able to build advanced centrifuge rotors far beyond its current needs under the JCPOA, providing an advantage that would allow it to quickly build an advanced centrifuge enrichment plant if it chose to leave or disregard the JCPOA during the next few years. The carbon fiber procurement attempt is also another example of efforts by the P5+1 to keep secret problematic Iranian actions.

So Iran isn’t only being more aggressive since the signing of the JCPOA--in Iraq and Syria, for example, or in cyber attacks on the United States--but is also cheating on the deal. And what is the reaction from the Obama administration, and other cheerleaders for the JCPOA? Nothing.

John Kerry famously said “Iran deserves the benefits of the agreement they struck.” They do not deserve to be allowed to cheat. Kerry said in April when asked if Iran would "stick to the key terms of this deal for the next 20 years" that “I have faith and confidence that we will know exactly what they’re doing during that period of time. And if they decide to try to cheat, we will know it, and there are plenty of options available to us. That I have complete faith and confidence in.”

That’s nice. But now we know they are cheating, and the option the administration appears to have chosen is silence: just ignore the problem. When asked about the German intel report and the Institute for Science and International Security report, the State Department spokesman replied "we have absolutely no indication that Iran has procured any materials in violation of the JCPOA."

Needless to say this kind of response will only encourage Iran to cheat more, secure in the knowledge that Obama administration officials will not call them out on it, nor choose any serious one of the "plenty of options" it says it has. This means that Iran’s breakout time will diminish, and the danger to its neighbors and to the United States will grow and grow."

It is also in the interest of the United States -- and the whole world -- to make sure Israel does not have nuclear weapons.

Israel has them. Israel needs them. Israel does not threaten the Muslim world. The Muslim world has always threatened Israel.

What you say is true.

That's why Israel must not have nuclear weapons. Israel is more likely than any other power to actually use them.

Putin ally says countries now ready to supply Iran with nuclear weapons

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, said Sunday that President Donald Trump "has pushed the US into another war" and that countries are "ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads."

"The enrichment of nuclear material—and, now we can say it outright, the future production of nuclear weapons—will continue," Medvedev, a top ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, wrote in his Telegram post. "A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads."

You are mistaken. The Israelis do not want to destroy the Arab world. They only want to deport the Palestinians so that they can settle and develop the land the Palestinians live on.

But Israel might use its nukes if its very existence were threatened -- and that is a situation that might manifest at any time -- and that could lead to a general global nuclear exchange by any number of conceivable routes.

Iran probably would never use its nukes either, but we all can see how the world would be more endangered if it got them. Did not the global threat level rise when NK acquired nuclear capability?

Restricting membership in the nuclear club is of crucial importance. If the USG ever acquires definite proof Israel has nukes, we should pound Tel Aviv as flat as Gaza City.

Iranian leaders called for the destruction of Israel before Trump destroyed Iran's nuclear capacity.

Iran and Israel have had no diplomatic relations since 1979, and modern relations are hostile. The relationship was cordial for most of the Cold War, but worsened following the Iranian Revolution and has been openly hostile since the end of the Gulf War in 1991. Iran's current government does not recognize Israel's legitimacy as a state and has called for its destruction

All true -- and I'm still right about every point made in post #119.

Iranian leaders have threatened the existence of Israel. Israeli header have not threatened the existence of Iran.
But Israel might actually have nuclear weapons, and that is just too dangerous to tolerate -- far more so than in Iran's case, for reasons already explained.
