What are we all writing right now?

The pending works says my second story, "Life From Bitterness" will go live tomorrow. Usually around 02:00CDT. It's a follow up to "Descent Into Bitterness." I hadn't intended to write it. Then it completely hijacked everything else I was working on until I wrote it.
I've now had 3 different people in the last 48 hours tell me I need to write a sequel to Seduce Her...

I'm really, really trying not to get derailed on my current project. Which sure looks like it's going to be a novel-length undertaking (I'm halfway through my final MC introduction chapter and it's already 6100 words...).

Funny thing is I was really pretty set on letting Seduce Her be a standalone when I published it. And now I'm getting excited about the idea of a sequel.

At least I don't have to think very hard about my next project...

Yeah, I've had that happen. It can be a bit irritating because I was in the middle of writing something else. But on the other hand it's nice to have the words just flowing.

Aside from my Nude Day, Crime and Punishment, Summer Lovin', and Winter Holidays potential stories, I've got two ideas I'm toying with.

The first is a potential 2026 Hammered story about the search for an allegedly enchanted sex appliance.

The second is a City of Scum story. This one requires quite a bit of research.

After shopping for a motorcycle (came back with story fuel, not horsepower), I started outlining a new idea called One Morning. The first chapter? Solid, grabs the reader right away. But as I kept outlining, I realized I’d veered straight into the Trope Zone: cheating wives, emotional whiplash, the whole nine yards. So now I’ve got two outlines; one classic, one less so. Not sure which version will win out in the end. To trope or not to trope... that really is the question.

Tropes are tropes because they have been used to tell a good story. Go with which ever outline gives you the best story.

When the movie Casablanca was being filmed, it was remarked by the critics that it was "corny." The director's reply was, "yes, it is. But sometimes corn is the best thing on the table."

It's whatever tells the story best. And heck, you might have two great stories to tell, out of this inspiration.

Appreciate that. I’ve been chewing on it. I’ve had a little time since a couple of eagle-eyed beta readers flagged something I missed in Melody’s Silence: Unwritten Orders, so I’m circling back to patch that up before I tack back toward the new story.

It’s not really two stories, it’s two motivations. One’s got more juice, the other’s like an unbuttered piece of toast. Not bad, just not thrilling. So I’m figuring out which one sings and which one hums politely in the background. We’ll see what makes the final cut.

Just finished reading, five stars and favorited, left a comment. I'd like to see you explore how this couple developed their relationship up to this point. Seems like there'd be a great story right there. Also the young lady. How did she arrive to the point that the first man who treated her decently made such a strong immeidate impression on her.

The scene where she described the wife approaching her, that'd be a good story, too!

I've always said the best stories are the ones that after you finish them, you wonder, "What would have happened next?"

The story that seems to be working for me at the moment is about a divorced woman having therapy for her inhibitions. It started from an idea where a demon seduces an uptight woman by talking her through and past her sexual hangups, but I thought it would be more interesting if told from her perspective.

A single image in my head is rapidly turning into something quite substantial.

I can understand that.

My entry is focused on a 'series of unfortunate events' that cause the staff of a shop to spend a day working naked. I tried to focus on how it makes them feel, and of course, the outrageous sex that results.

That sounds awesome.

I have trouble with slice-of-life. Secrets and shame are my comfort zone. It's the path of least resistance because it brings the relationship into focus. I don't have to care who they are outside this room because the stakes in this room make that irrelevant. Again, shortcutting the character intro and avoiding sounding like a red carpet paparazzi by telling the reader "who they're wearing". It's one of my "bad erotica" red flags and I avoid it, perhaps to a limiting degree.

Maybe I'll break all of my bad erotica rules, turn it into a collection. There could be one where the scene starts as they're waking up in the morning. There could be one where the scene starts in coitus like a porno.

I...I need to divert my attention from my current project immediately.

I have no idea where you live, but from now on I'll imagine it's Transylvania.

I have tried working on like five different stories in the last week. This morning I decided to pick up an idea I had been saving for the Crime and Punishment event. I am already 6K into a pretty solid draft. The story is coming together much better than I thought it would. And I got another idea for the event overnight, which is what I thought I would write today, but this one was fully ready to sprout. It feels very good after a week of very forced writing.

In a different genre, I wrote a story involving a Werewolf attacking a 13-year-old girl (This was straight fantasy, NOT erotica!) Anyway, when the werewolf attacks, the girl is so scared she vomits on the werewolf. It tuns out that the werewolf's super-sensitivew sense of smell worked against it. It instantly has to go jump into a pond to wash itself off. Then, it's way too embarrassed to continue the attack. The girl feels sorry for it, so the next day she revisits the same spot, and leaves a ham. This goes on for a couple of full-moons, and eventually the werewolf and the girl developed a friendship. It ended with her parents coming home one day and the girl is having a tea party with her other friends, and the werewolf.

I'll have to see if I can dig that up, it was funny. AT least, I thought so. Literotica has the non-erotic category. STill, I'll bump the girl's age up to 18. I can see a lot of fun in that scenario, too. Say the Homecoming King decides to have his way with her, and guess why she doesnt carry a form of self-defense? Because it's following her, watching over her.

Oh, no! NOW I see how it should go ...

Another story project!

I’ve got too many ideas and not enough free time. When the weather’s good, the pedals come first, so the new story I was flirting with tropes is on hold for now.

That said, the Melody’s Silence sequel just got an upgrade. It’s gone from action-thriller to full-on suspense-action-thriller. What was supposed to be one story is now at least a two-parter, maybe three, with cliffhangers to go around.

Once that’s wrapped, I’m diving back into the world of February Sucks with a sequel to The Ides of March. Readers want more Jim and Savannah. Buckle up.

Still going. It's taken some time to "find" the characters, but I'm trying to prod them more than I usually do.

The first story I started to write for here is about a princess whose throne is usurped by her uncle before she's crowned. I've read a lot of fantasy, and I thought I could do better. But it's turning out to be harder than I thought. 😒

In between I had an idea for an exhibitionist story, or maybe toys/masturbation. I hope I can finish it for the NUde Contest.

I just finished the ending for a story idea I had planned on using for the Crime and Punishment event. But it was the only story that seemed to want to be written right now. And I have another idea for that event.

More editing and than submit it today or tomorrow.

I contracted once to write a four-part interconnected set of fantasy stories. I'd written some fantasy before, read it all my life, and figured it wouldn't be hard.

The first two were fine. The last two? I spent six full months blocked as my group of sorcerous mercenaries passed a waterfall along an upland trail. Worst case of writers' block I've ever had; I can still see that fucking waterfall in my head almost a decade later, with my characters standing beside it staring reproachfully at me for six fucking months while I couldn't figure out what they'd do next.

I finally got to the end of a two part story (both around 6K words). I finished the first part last week and it's "baking" for a bit until I can look at it with fresh eyes (although if anyone wants to volunteer to give it a read through, I can pay you provided that you accept payment in the form of virtually unreadable erotic fiction). This one is a stretch for me because it's digging into the emotional wounds of my main POV character as she drowns in a feeling of burnout. So far I love it, which historically means that it's pretty bad.

In the meaning, I'm figuring out what's up next. The story I just wrote has an obvious and immediate followup. I'd also like to enter one or both of the Hammered and Dark Fairy Tales challenges although I don't have anything for either of them at the moment.

Ooo, do Dark Fairy Tales!

Last week I made a quick post about my inability to let go of my characters
I can't say goodbye to my characters
I'm now on the fifth new chapter and the writing gets more complicated by the additional new characters as well as maintaining consistency across what is now 21 chapters with several more in the planning/outlined state. I won't submit anything new until the tale is complete, but who can say when that will be? Delayed gratification isn't everything it's cracked up to be.
Anyway, just wanted to say I haven't been slacking off.
