The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Variety is the spice of life, right?
I love traveling but don't have the budget to go everywhere I'd like or as often as I'd like.
Television and movies are good vehicles for that...

I absolutely fell in love with 1 Night, 2 Days (1박 2일) - a Korean variety show. I especially love the episodes with Kang Ho-dong as the emcee. It ticked all the boxes for me: language, food, fun, culture. Viki.com had full episodes with subtitles. It's what kept me pedaling on my recumbent bike after my first knee replacement.

MONDAY!!!
Started out with a scare that both A/C and Furnace would need to be replaced... but turned out to just be a blower motor. Same-day fix and much more affordable. Still a big bite out of my budget, but not nearly as much as a replacement would have been. 🎉 🥃

How's everyone else starting the week?

🫂 You fall squarely in the Superhero category. How anyone survived that disaster is beyond my comprehension.

I was giving this serious consideration during a GI flare - until an elemental diet showed that I was reacting to the process of digestion as much as I was the food.

Still sounds like an attractive option for this prep. My next is due in October - how open is your calendar? 😂

Sound advice!! Always easier to run away from home when you have a destination and secured housing at the other end. 🫂

Your trainer sounds amazing! So glad you found her... does she have a sibling in the Midwest?? Asking for a friend.

A now-retired PT provider used to offer a Tai Chi for Arthritis class. He used the Dr. Paul Lam program - and he has a YouTube Channel.
I love Part I but my knees and ankles find Part II too twisty.

The mark of true friendship there... and I'm sure they appreciated your company. But yes - you get to select the next team activity. 😂

Courthouses, too. You would not believe the amount and variety of weapons people try to walk into a courthouse. There's no door check service. Either you hand it over to a deputy (and never get it back), or you leave and re-enter without it.
They do regular sweeps of the landscaping for all the knives, etc. that are "temporarily housed" in the bushes. :ROFLMAO:

Happy Birthday - today :)

Good luck on the test 🫂
Yeah - surviving regular stressors doesn't give you a free pass. If it did I doubt anyone would need to take that test.
Hope you continue to enjoy vacation and get some good water time in as well!! 🏖️

Welcome home!!! Missed you 🫂

Same!!
Thank goodness I had a cooling towel when it hit 80° in my place Saturday night 🥵
So much better now... 66 outside... and a perfect 72 inside right now 💖💖💖

Hell no! Anything over 72-74 (with a breeze) is deserving of complaint in my book :geek: 📖

mid-sixties... and loving it!! 💗

49/50 is even better than mid-sixties... but since both are under 72, I won't complain :ROFLMAO:

Ooh - perfect set up for the only idiom I recall from high school Spanish class:
Mas vale tarde que nunca
Better late than never 😁

I am so here for conversations like this one!!! ^^^
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I don't have anything against the dress really... I just want it in a different color :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
These colors suit me more...

Green one for me

and... Part 2:

TIL - had to investigate this one. A bit more info here than what my mom gave me back in grade school.
Here are some resources I found helpful for anyone else thinking "what's a grey rock?"
Medical News Today: Grey Rock
Psych Central: Grey Rock Method
My Wellbeing: Grey Rock Technique

Too bad @nipplecaresser is out today :ROFLMAO:

Right? Given so many have had theirs recently or will be, any tips or hacks for the prep?
For me? I lube up before the clear out. Otherwise it's excruciatingly painful. I find this worse than the prep actually. I tolerate simple vaseline - but make sure it's not scented. Yes - there is scented vaseline these days.

Right? I was really hoping this was an Australia Only critter, but nope

I 🥰 this song!

Reminds me of Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon... total cutie and marshmallow with a bit of snap. :ROFLMAO:

Great prep hack, B2!

Sounds like a perfect match... my heart sings to hear the words "happy old dog". 🥰🥰🥰

Adding this to my lexicon!! 🥰🤣

Does it really? Or are all those others really found under "Other meanings"? 😂

*reaches for Black Book again*

Fall Prevention... Fall Survival looks a bit different I think... like "How to roll" and "Don't put your hands out"??

Yes!! The "Toaster Test"
(aka Unplug, Plug back in or Turn off/on)

Nah - when you have an out like this? Always throw the tech under the bus. 😂 😂

I think we all do the same to an extent. I do like discovering "new" be it music, authors, foods... anything really. At the same time, I do return again and again to my faves. 🤷‍♀️
It's staying open to the new that I think is important.

Sounds like the perfect definition right here. Hope it works out for you!

Welcome back...
(cue theme song from Welcome Back, Kotter for my 🎶 musically 🎶 wired brain)

Happy Birthday!

I'm like @JesseWallace in this regard - I like looking at someone's profile when I first meet them and definitely before I send a DM

We're fans of a good pun around here, right @nipplecaresser and @Lilianna23 ? ;)

When my care team says stuff like this, I like to ask how they fared when they had the test/procedure/whatever done themselves (or their mom, wife, sister, daughter). Their response helps inform my decisions - that and my own, independent research.

Sending huge Lucky Charm vibes your way.
⭐🍀🌑🦄🌈🎈

Same, girl! My A/C has been off almost all weekend. Given what it's doing and its age? I'm expecting I'll need to replace both furnace and A/C... and it's almost certain if will not be completed before some really hot and smoky weather hits. So then I also get to play the "Home or Hospital Game" with reactions.

I've put out a Princess Lea distress call to who I hope will be my Obi Wan Kenobi (aka guy who did the orig installs).
I was "grey rocking" my narcissistic mother before I ever knew what grey rocking was!

Minor grade mayhem Saturday and Sunday. Did two days at the airshow. I don’t ever need to do that again, but my friend was needing out on old airplanes.

I mean it’s cool to see them and all, but two days of it? I’m over it.

There were some good old man bars found tho. That’s always fun!
Sounds like finding the bars was the best part of the weekend! 🍻

Good morning early risers. Why 330? Ask the old happy dog. Had my first cup of coffee that feels good.

A good day ahead as I see my GF who returned from visiting her son and grandchildren. 🫂

About Tai Chi- I still know a few good moves but I keep twisting my knee when I should by pivoting on the ball of my foot. That meant hurting knee! So I’m now trying standing Pilates. So far it’s good.

My priority is walking and doing PT for the gluteal tendinitis. I’m still waiting for the order for PT from my doctor.
Good reunion? All definitions of the word! 😈💓

I'm going to have to look up standing Pilates. My gym opened a Pilates studio. One of my gym friends tried it and won't be returning. If she can't do it, I definitely can't!
