Good morning all. I found a great old dog sitter. She is a freshman in college whose mother is a widow in our Meetup group. She and old dog get along great.

Even though, when I return home he wants to play which means he is a happy old dog.

Forecast is for some rain and then later this week more smoke from the wildfires.

Music is a funny thing. I all kinds of music. I give everything a shot, but always sort of come back around to my faves. Live music…same…love it! having said all that, there are certain groups I have given shots but they just don’t flip my switch. The Avett Bro’s are one of those. Our local hipster station has them in heavy rotation. There’s a couple of tunes…. I should love them…they’re literally from right up the road.

Books/authors? Same. There are certain authors that I’m “supposed” to love, but…no. Flannery O’Connor…yeah, I’m talking bout you! . Maybe I’m weird…

It’s hot here people…not Africa hot…yet, but It’s coming. I can feel it. It just seemed like last week I was crying about the cold. Where is that mythical place where it stays 72 year round?

Im one of the lucky ones to have the recommendation to get them every two years based on the things they find. Well screw them, im doing them every three years. Cause im a rebel.

If you're going to wait an extra year, please make sure your doctor/clinic gives you a hemoccult test yearly. You've probably done them before but if not, it's a simple take home test used to detect the presence of blood in your stool. Follow the directions then take/mail it in.

Thinking I'm fighting a bug or something, didn't roll out of bed until almost 3 this afternoon. Started getting the lawn mowed, and ended up getting rained out.

That said, do not sell yourself short!! I remember Deepwater Horizon and the 11 souls we lost that day.
In an archetypal story of Good vs Evil played out IRL... there were several heroes on the rig that day. I shudder to think how much worse this could have been without them. And you do this work every day (well, except for the your land rotation w/ your Goddess). I doubt most people think of all that goes into a "simple fill up at the pump" or any of the other items in their life that have their origin in petrochemicals. Thank you for doing this dangerous, needed work.

I spend all of my time on Lit on just this thread and DMs. I just don't have time for more right now. It's the people here that keep drawing me back.

I've never tried Tai Chi. I should check it out!

I mean it’s cool to see them and all, but two days of it? I’m over it.

There were some good old man bars found tho. That’s always fun!

I always told my patients to use a straw. You can bypass most of the taste buds that way. I had to threaten my hubs with an NG tube! This is a tube that is inserted into the nose and ends in the stomach for you non-HCPs.

Now a nurse tells me about the straw after suffering for about 20 years of agony.

I mean it’s cool to see them and all, but two days of it? I’m over it.

There were some good old man bars found tho. That’s always fun!

My son and I worked security for the annual Air show here. We got there early for the training and walked around before the crowds to view the planes up close without a lot of people.

The same rules on what you can bring onto the airfield apply as the local airport. No one knew that so many pocket knives were bagged and secured until after the show when people departed.

It was very hot that day. We did not work it again but have gone to the show several times.

A good day ahead as I see my GF who returned from visiting her son and grandchildren.

About Tai Chi- I still know a few good moves but I keep twisting my knee when I should by pivoting on the ball of my foot. That meant hurting knee! So I’m now trying standing Pilates. So far it’s good.

My priority is walking and doing PT for the gluteal tendinitis. I’m still waiting for the order for PT from my doctor.
